Morning all! I thought I would mix it up a bit and I found this card that I never posted. It was from the shows that I did in August I believe. The background card I started with is from Canvas Corp. It is a white printed kraft card. I cut two pieces, one larger than the other and added the Asian border to the edges of both pieces. I added foam mounting strips to the backs of both of them, then mounted them on a piece of black card, but left a gap between them (about an inch and a half). I used the chalk white American seam binding to lace up the gap using the scallops of the border for the ribbon to go through. I went up skipping every other hole, then came back and laced through the skipped scallops. I tied the ends into a bow and added a clear Dazzler and stickpins as accents. I stamped my sentiment on kraft card and cut it out with the Asian Motif die. I cut another one out of black card and offset it as a mat for my sentiment. I made two flowers out of the krinkly craft paper (twistwrap kraft paper it is also called) and them with black soot distress ink. I used the swirl from the Venetian set as an accent for my flowers. I added a black rhinestone swirl radiating from my sentiment across the top of the card. Piercing the black mat added my final touch. A card au naturalle today, I hope it suits you. I also forgot to mention that Julia Watts will be on C & C today at noon and 6pm with some of my new Rubbernecker stamp designs (available through Creative Expressions). Don't forget to tune in and see Julia's fun demos! All for now, Sue x

Another lovely card Sue-your imagination knows no bounds, take care,x.
ReplyDeleteI love this card Sue but did feel the ribbon was either too wide or maybe beige would have blended in better the eyes are drawn to the staunch white too much for me and detracts somewhat from the very beautiful card that you have made sadly - sorry! :(

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI like everything about this card except the ribbon & lacing. It just seems to me to overpower and detract from the rest of the card. I felt the same with the teal one a couple of weeks ago. It is just my opinion though - sorry!
Lovely delicate colours here!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteI love the colours. I must do more ribbon weaving as i do get frustrated when i do it as i find to many gathers and it never looks good lol! I have dvd set for recd for Julia

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? Today's card is just absolutely stunning, everything you have used just goes so well together. In fact, I love all this week's cards. You clever thing!! You have converted me into using ribbons, bows and even weaving. Iwould never have thought of weaving ribbon through dies, so I am definately going to try it with my new Spellbinders, as I think it looks very elegant. Thank you for all the work, time and patience you must put into all your daily cards. It is very much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you back on create and craft, but in the meantime will enjoy Julia's show's today, as she is another talented crafter.Take care, love from Karen Brass xx

What an awesome card, sue!!!
ReplyDeleteLove everything about it: the background paper, the colors, the flowers, the swirls and of-course the seamed lace :)
Really liking the colours & design of this card Sue. Got part of my order from Sunday's show today. Had almost the full order, but the parcel was split & I'm missing all my card stock, my 2x A4 M-Bossibility folders from the 2x multi buys & my micro beads. Slightly gutted as doubt I'll get them now. Pick of the weeks still to come. Once it has, they will sort out my split parcel they said. I have loads of card already, so can make do, but I really wanted my A4 folders :-(((. I'll be making a similar coloured card for my nieces Birthday later. It's my partners Birthday today also :-). By for now, Claire xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue...I saw you make this card on C&C...it is stunning...and I just love the colors...very regal!!

ReplyDeleteAnother stunning creation! x
ReplyDeleteThis is yet another lovely card, I love this ribbon effect. xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteEverything about this s gorgeous. The lacing works much better on this card than the Laced Venetians posted last month. I bought a design ruler in July and went to use it (for the first time) on Tuesday for a pierced effect on a card. Guess what? I can't find it anywhere - I KNOW I put it somewhere safe! I guess it'll turn up eventually, meanwhile I'm pierce-less. :-(
Happy Days!
Sue
