They Are Finally Here!!!

Hello there blog friends!  Can you tell by my title that I am a little bit excited that I now have in our possession my favourite pearl bow embellishments!  The wait is over, all of you that have emailed me asking about them, wait no more!  Yes they are sitting happily in our warehouse ready to go to a good (and crafty) home.  If you can't wait until the shows start on Tuesday, many of them have already arrived at your local shops.   I know that Sam Poole has them in stock, raring and waiting to go, and I think our Julia Watts has them in her shop too.  Ask your local retailer to stock them if you like them as much as I do.  Now on to the card.  I decided to show you a new card, but I am not really giving anything away from the POTD on Tuesday yet as all these dies were on the July shows.  Due to their popularity, Ideal decided to bring them back and add them on to the shows in August that I am doing with still more of the new dies.  I have to admit, I was delighted because I didn't get to play with them until now.  This Venetian accent border is STUNNING!  I cannot get enough of that set myself.  A quick rundown of this card for you, I started with a piece of decorative paper that had a really soft tanzanite blue colour in it on a white background.  I found some matching cardstock to use with it.  I cut two border strips out of the blue and cut four Venetian borders out of coconut white card.  I turned two of the borders in to each other so they meshed into place and created a new looking border.  I think this is so pretty, don't you?  I mounted each of these down the sides on foam pieces.  I cut a couple more blue strips and covered them with sticky sheets and covered them with micro beads. I turned these pieces into a cardstock bow by cutting into the loops a bit and making two forked tails.  I added one of my pretty pearl bow embellishments as a focal piece for my bow.  Above that, I layered up a white Labels 28 back piece, then topped it with two labels 27 that I crossed in the centre.  I added a Venetian corner piece to the top and bottom by using the "holding hands" on them to clip to the edge.  Next I covered a piece of white card with a sticky sheet and cut out my Vintage Lace Accent piece and covered it with micro beads.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with one of the small hexagon shapes.  I inked it with weathered wood distress ink.  I have to say that I think Sir Tim needs a tanzanite blue in his distress ink range as I struggled to find a perfect colour to match my blue card.  I think the weathered wood is a tad too grey, but it was the only thing close and I wanted a bit of colour on my sentiment.  We will have to email him and ask, don't you think?  Anyways, back to the card, I pierced the edges and decided that I liked this one.  I hope you do too.  All for now, Sue x

  17. Morning Sue, WOW this is such a gorgeous card. The pearl embellishment is absolutely stunning, I will have to have some of those. I love how you have done the card bow, you are ingenious. You are 'mates' with Sir Tim after having your photo taken with him, why not nudge him in the right direction with a suggestion for a Tanzanite colour, tell him you need it, I'm sure he will do that for you. Lots of love from Patricia xx

Love the blue and white - and yes, a tanzanite ink would be great! Love the pearl bow embellishment - Just had an order from Sam (the kraft and black papers and the new self adhesive pearls) but didn't see these, will have to look again!
Love the Venetians and have just noticed how similar the shape in the border is to ivy leaves - so they won't look at all out of place on Christmas cards! Don't they go well with the Vintage lace dies too!
    Looking forward to Tuesday,
