Homecoming Gardenias

Good morning!  As this post goes live on Friday morning, I should have been touching down at Gatwick, but our plane was delayed 24 hours so I won't be back in the UK until early Saturday now.  I would love to say that I will bring some sunshine back with me, but there has been nothing but thunderstorms for the past week! Hopefully these gardenias will brighten your day though.  I stamped my gardenias in black on coconut white card (by the way, it's official, I have been able to add coconut white card to my next shows).  I did a bit of colouring and then placed a sticky adhesive sheet over them and cut them out.  You can see the black line though the sheet so it isn't too hard to cut it out.  I peeled off the backing paper and micro beaded them. You can see them better in the close up below.  You can tidy the lines a bit if need be after micro beading them too.  I cut two of the Labels 18 dies in white and nestablinged them for the gardenias to sit on for my focal element.  the background was done using the Venus Crest embossing folder.  I added some tumbled glass for colour after embossing.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Samatha Walker antique tag die.  The tag part was a bit larger, but I cut it down to make it smaller and fit my sentiment better.  I inked the tag with tumbled glass too and tied a messy bow using the white American seam binding.  I tucked the tag under the edge of the bow embellishment I used.  To finish the card I added a couple of stick pins and pierced the edges.  All for now, Sue x

Sorry to hear, you´ve had such a rough weather and is soo delayed, but it hasn´t been much better over here, I´m afraid. We´ve had nothing but rain rain rain and so cold, noone can call this for summer at all, except from 4 days with warm and sun, and that´s really a bit too little in my book, so I really hope, we´ll get some here in August or this year will even beat the last 3 awful summers SIGH.

  81. GM Sue - not one of my favourites - sorry! But a happy bunny nonetheless :-)as Julia Watts has on her blog today very detailed instructions on how to pierce like a pro! My problem was getting the corners to perfectly match and I concluded it must be somthing to do with the size of the card I was piercing into - it seems it is. So now I am going to have to measure my mats and layers - heyho - A small price to pay for getting perfect piercing me thinks. Safe travels
