Morning blog friends! As I sit in the green room working on my posts for the week, I thought let's do another cheerful spring like card since it is absolutely chucking it down with rain as I write this! This is another truly simple card to recreate. I have embossed the white background with the Flora Embossibility folder for texture and interest. I have cut out seven of the rose from the Floral Tag set. You can cut them with two pieces of card at a time to speed it up a bit though. I inked them up while in the die, some with tattered rose, some with mustard seed, some with dried marigold distress inks. I used shabby shutters to ink the "leaf" on each of them. I added a piece of mounting foam to the back of each of them and arranged them in a wreath, slightly overlapping each other. Underneath my wreath, I placed a strip of redline tape. Using some white American seam binding, I ruched it across and tucked the ends to the back. I added a large double bow tied out of the satin edged white organza. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the coordinating rose tag from the set. I inked it with Tattered rose for interest. I threaded a piece of the pink Bakers Twine from the pastel set through my tag and attached it to my bow. I pierced the edges to frame and finish the card. Now, maybe this will help the rain go away! All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteThankyou for this cheerful card today Sue, as i am obviously very low today, my darling brother only 50 died yesterday morning and i really need anything that'll pick me up or make me smile, as i know you know with only losing Dad recently, its the little things that you need, like this morning the sunrise at 5am made me think of my brother and took a pic of it i wrote about it on FB, just made me think of him and smile, and this card is what i needed today, how did you know? sunshiney, happy colours, which neither me or you use ordinarily, you use very similar colours to me, more vintagey, so this was a nice surprise and one i will remember, so thankyou lovely lady and i hope you arent seasick right now, lol, lots of love&blessings, Vick xxxx
