Good Monday morning! Back to one of my favourite dies from Heartfelt Creations for today's card. The Decorative Oval Window is a really versatile and fun die to use. I love it because it can be used as intended as a window or simply a fancy frame or take it apart and use it as a swirl for accent pieces. Not to mention, it leaves a gorgeous negative piece as an aperture too! I picked purple shades for this card, starting with a pale lavender for my background. I embossed it with the So Trendy embossibility folder for my largest background piece. I cut a smaller piece of the same lavender card and attached a piece of sticky adhesive sheet to it. I embossed it with the Enchanted embossibility folder, then removed the backing paper and adhered the clear micro beads to it. I stamped my sentiment with black archival ink. I cut out the oval window die and inked it with Dusty concord distress ink while in the die. I hand cut around my sentiment so it would fit in my window nicely once I nipped out the crossbars. I used mounting foam on the back of my window to raise it for dimension. I tied a messy bow using the purple vintage ribbon (it looks a bit blue in the pic, but it is purple) and added a button with Bakers Twine and stick pins to it. I added a few flatback pearls as accents and pierced the edges to finish it off. Like most of my cards, a simple sentiment change and you have a card that would work for all sorts of occasions. All for now, Sue x
Another beauty ,beats me how you come up with so many different style of cards

Hi Sue. Beautiful card. Such a good idea to make two embossed backgrounds and matt and layer them. I love the centre frame die. I love swirly curly looking things on cards. A nice idea to put the ribbon across the background twice. I really like that and of course that gorgeous big bow with button and bakers twine. I am waiting for the ribbon buckle dies I have on order at the moment. I had to renew my cc club membership got 10% off plus the tripple discount for members on the spellbinders dies right now plus ten pounds to spend on your first order so I ordered the ribbon buckle dies and had to pay just 6 pounds 98p extra !!! Bargain!! Love Tres x x x

What a stunning card here again Sue, and one I could sure have used yesterday, when I had to make my first sympathycard ever, and it´s the hardest card, I´ve ever made, as it was for a really dear friends husbond, as my friend passed away in a way too young age. Your card is so lovely and stylish and say just what´s needed. Stunning work again hun.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue

Hugs Annxx
What fantastick texture I love the font on the greeting and this spendid elaborate die fits so well with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, yet another beautiful card in some of my favourite colours. I don't think this has to be just a sympathy card, change the text and it's good for almost anything. I must see about getting the Heartfelt dies as I think I now need them! LOL.
ReplyDeleteFrances
Gorgeous card as always, I love to visit your blog as it's so inspiring xx
ReplyDeleteElegant card with a lovely verse and my fav colours.
ReplyDeleteI was playing with this die last week and never thought of snipping out the cross, I might have beable to make it work if I had. The other problem I has was I need a backing for it so I wished it came with a solid piece that left an edge on the outside like a mat. In fact I've found several of the new releases that I would have like mats for and I've been cutting faux mats myself but not as perfect as using a die.
Pauline
Hi Sue, Great card. I love the way the swirls in the due complement the swirls in the script. With Love & Light Theresa. H
