Hello blog friends! These new dies called Crosses Two are part of the collection on offer this time. I know it is a very specialised type of die but aren't they lovely (and not just because they have a lattice design to them either!). I have to say that the type of card that most people tell me they have to make most often besides birthday cards are either wedding or sympathy. The Crosses Two work beautifully for both of those needs. I have put them together with the Bitty Blossoms and a couple of my own flowers creations too. I like the eclectic mix of flowers as I feel it gives a card a bit more interest. I added a bit of tulle and pearl string from my craft stash too. I cut two of the crosses, one in a slightly darker shade of grey to act as a shadow. I added some Diamond Stickles to the left side as a highlight to it. I know the colours are a bit sedate, but I liked the way the cream and slightly darker shade in the background paper look against the graytones. I finished the card with lots of dots today. Silver dots on the smaller focal piece and silver dots on the background edge. A tiny pearl spray was added to the top to balance the flowers. A bit different than my usual label shapes, but I hope you like it! All for now, Sue x
This is beautiful, both the die cut and your card.
ReplyDeletethis is a beautiful die and the card you've made is gorgeous. These dies would fit in well with the other spellbinder crosses
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteAnother super card, love it.
Yes! a card that many have to make but find it hard. Have to say this die could make it so much easier.
Loved the shows yesterday, but I find these "Bundles" not so good as I have so many of the dies.
However I love to see what you create, I get so much inspiration.
Thank you for all the hard work you put into the shows.
Have a great weekend
Patricia xx
These are always difficult cards for me to look at but I know why they are necessary. The detail is fastastic and I love the colour combination.
ReplyDeleteBTW I recorded & watched all your shows yesterday. I love my grandcalibur and order spellbinders every week but I'm waiting to get paid so that I can get the POTW on C&C.
I love what you do but my purse doesn't!! LOL

Thanks for bringing the card back, I did get some more of that! Off to watch this morning's show now...Carole Z X

ReplyDeleteHi Sue - lovely to see you back onC&C and looking so 'not-jet-lagged'! Today's card is lovely and, sadly, there's always going to be a need for this type. Like many of your bloggers, each bundle contained some dies that I already have, so in a 'sensible' moment (bit rare, that!) passed on them - I know I'll be regretting it before long and will be searching the net for single packs. Thanks for all your inspiration. Kathy x

The die is lovely (yes, I do love the lattice work in it), but what hit me first was the color combo. It is a lovely combo of colors, just right for a sympathy card. Are your shows available for viewing in the US? I don't know what they're about exactly, but would love to see one. Are they on UStream by any chance?
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure about the crosses initially but having seen your demo with one of the cross designs yesterday and now seeing this card they are definitely on my wish list. Perhaps they will be available at the Thetford show tomorrow. I think this card is very elegant with the colour scheme you have chosen.

I am a happy bunny - I bought the lattice motives & accents from the 'C' wharehouse, Rushden, today - sorry about that, Sue, I feel like a traitor, lol.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteYou truly have inspired us lately with not only the dies and samples but with all the tips and techniques within the shows. I loved the tip about Blossom three. I snip into Blossom one and cut away a little of the base piece, then by rollin a bit tighter I can create a smaller flower with a totally different style also.
I think this is a stunning way to use the cross and wish I had owned these just a little while ago as I have had to make 2 sympathy cards recently. The pearls and tulle look lovely with the flowers and really make a lovely change from the norm. This layout done in whites or pastels would make fantastic wedding and communion cards also. Often people wonder if the cross is worthwhile but there are so many occasions when it would be the perfect piece of kit. Besides Sympathy, Wedding and Communion you have Easter, Baptisms, Christenings and also Blessings, plus it can be used for Gothic cards etc. Add to that the adaption you showed on C&C and the crosses are a necessary piece of kit I think.
All the best Linda
Sue love this card I wish I had brough this die.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, a beautiful card yet again. It is sometimes really difficult to make a sympathy card but these crosses will lend themselves beautifully to this end. A "must have" in a craft cupboard. Thanks for sharing.
