Hello everyone! Back to earthtones for today's post. I like this one, especially all the fun Spellbinder layers. I started with the romantic rectangle (the largest one in the set), cut it and then layed it across the die (like in a plus sign), roughly lined up the four holes (it isn't perfect, but it is very close) and cut it again to make a square shape. I added some black rhinestones on each corner to hide any imperfections. Next comes the Lattice Motif (sneaking it's way back into my posts!), cut in rust coloured card. Layered on top of that is two of the Persian Accent pieces with the points up and down. Next is another piece from my Lattice set, it was cut in black and layered up in a diamond shape fashion. Last layer is another of the Persian accents, but this time, I added a very small piece from the set in the centre and just embossed it, adding a rhinestone to the middle. I layered this one offset to the others ones too. This created a nice medallion look for an interesting focal element. I added a few swirls to the top and bottom for interest. I stamped my sentiment in black to the side and added a big black double bow out of satin. The two beautiful stick pins were a gift made and sent to me by Lindyloo. Aren't they gorgeous!! I added a couple of black glints to the top and bottom to finish the card. Super simple just a matter of playing with the layers until you find a pleasing look you are happy with. All for now, Sue x
OMG!!! You just keep producing better and better cards. Seriously where do you get your inspiration??

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, your cards are sooooo wonderful, wish I could make mine like look like yours xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, Love everything, the earthtones, the layers, the sentiment, the bow and Lindyloos pretty stick pins. Been sitting here looking at it in close-up and realised the bow was reminding me of a long black dress with tight bodice and full skirt which was my Mother's. It was made of a very soft material, silk or satin, with tiny buttons covered in the same material. When I was a little girl I loved to twirl around in it then sit down suddenly on the floor - so the material billowed all around me. Jeepers! That must have been 60 years ago! Sue x
ReplyDeletestunning yet again Sue
ReplyDeleteStunning card just love the odours
ReplyDeleteLove the card Sue!! gorgeous..xx
ReplyDeletelovely cards cant wait to be able to do something like this julie x
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteBless you for mentioning my decorative stick pins; as my 'prototypes'(LOL!) they are honestly nothing compared to the latest designs. I will email a pic asap.
I adore todays card it is so stylish and has a slight Moroccan feel to it I think, but the reason I like this so much is the unusual way you have ofset the focal piece to allow for the lovely sentiment to its left. You don't see this done very often, most people tend to put text centerstage or to the right.
I have no song today sorry; well not strickly true, I just don't have a new song today, I'm still singing an oldie. So I am keeping schtum for a change. Think I'm sick or something? ...lol!!
I hope you had a good flight and have arrived safely in Florida. (You should be there by time you read this). Enjoy.
Best wishes and regards Linda x
Lovin' this one, the colors and the die cut layers are just marvelous.
ReplyDeleteR/

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteLove this card, the layers are amazing
Beautiful card
ReplyDeletei love this one its so delicate and its my fav colours. the layers under the sentiment are lovely .
ReplyDeletelayering up your lattice with those accent pieces on diagonal is so effective! Sometimes I am amazed at how many different looks you manage to come up with - even from the same dies, I guess thats the magic of spellbinders with all the different permutations and combinations - without even bringing in colour of card there is so much potential.
ReplyDeletewow yet another stunner lol.
ReplyDeletei love the colour
hugs lisa x
Lovely card, very good for men in particular, so very welcome! Thank you Sue.
