Hi crafty blog friends! Back to teal again today. It seems that I can't seem to stay away from it too long lately. It is a nice colour though, don't you think? I started out with a piece of white card for this one and cut the Samantha Walker Twisted Metal tag die out of it. I kept the die in place and inked the entire background with Broken China Distress Ink to create the teal background colour.
When you remove the die you end up with that lovely white border left from the edge of the die. The inner die piece was stamped with the sentiment and inked lightly with the same colour to highlight it. I mounted the negative background piece over some black glitter card and attached the sentiment in the centre. Using the white frilly edged ribbon, I tied a big bow at the bottom of the card. I cut several of the floral anemone die in white and teal card and removed the centre of each petal by folding it back and snipping it off. I layered up the pieces and offset them slightly and glued them together. I had a black fancy button in my craft stash that I glued in place for the centre of the flower. There is a close up of it below for you. I pierced around the edge of the black card that I layered it on and added some black rhinestones in each corner to finish it off. I really liked the way this one came out, probably because it was teal, who knows! I hope you like it too. All for now, Sue x

On wednesday your Tan & Turquoise card reminded me of 'My favourite things' from the Sound of Music, well have a guess what is on Sky family now, and, Miss Andrews is singing that exact song. How odd is that.. especially as I was thinking that todays card has a few of my favourite things: Twisted metal tag die, broken china ink, frilly edged ribbon... but.... they don't fit in the song as nicely as 'brown paper packages tied up with string'.
ReplyDeleteAh well, its an awesome card that doesn't need a musical interlude from me anyway.
Best wishes Sue and all

Great card, love the flower. Hugs, Frea
ReplyDeleteAnother great colourway - love samantha walker and the bow just finishes it off - brill!
ReplyDeleteAh, the lovely teal .. I bought my first teal dress over 40 years ago, long and slinky, it made me feel wonderfully glamourous - mind, in those days I had a 22" waist! I still choose teal outfits for weddings etc., but the 22" waist is long gone and the glamour is now mostly in the hats!
ReplyDeleteBut it's the card I should be talking about! - it's beautiful. And doesn't that ribbon travel well - I've just bought some from Sam and it arrived in such pristine condition, you would never think it had come through the post. Sue x
Oooooh this is such a lovely card!!! ITs hard to pick out a favourite element because it all works together so well, but I am particularly liking the way you have got the white borders for the central samantha walker die, then that little white touch in the anemone flower & the white ribbon echoes it, you are so clever!!
ReplyDeleteI just love the simplicity of this card with the femininity of that lovely ribbon and button
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Sue! I love that die and this color combination rocks!
ReplyDeleteLoving your bow and it's topper!
