Hello there my crafty friends! I cut the Poinsettia Cover Plate die out of black. I glued a white backing piece behind it then began cutting it a few more times out of the assorted colors in order to paper piece it. I used white gloss card for the flowers, antique gold card for the leaves and silver sparkle card for the background. Once the paper piecing was complete, I matted it with white then antique gold card. I added the piece to a larger piece of white card. I cut the May Your Days Be Merry & Bright out of silver sparkle card and glued them on to a shadow backing piece which I cut out of antique gold card. I added it below the cover plate with mounting foam. The card was completed with white and antique gold mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8" in size.
Just to let you know, again, there is another big hurricane on its way to Florida and it is likely to be a category 4 when it hits. It is projected to be south of the Tampa area, but these things have a way of changing their minds at the last minute. We are north of Tampa and not near the coast so shouldn't be too bad of shape if it doesn't change course too much, but again, I am concerned about the internet as far as the blog goes. I have scheduled it up for at least a week and will try to do more before the storm hits on Wed. night. Fingers crossed again! I will try my best to give you an update after the storm. Hurricane season goes through the end of November so this may not be the last one!
All for now, Sue x
