Wishing You Peace, Love & Joy

Hello crafters!  I started with a piece of powder pink card and embossed it with the Nordic Tiles embossing folder.  Using the Candy Canes die, I cut them out of raspberry card and backed them in white.  I crisscrossed them and added them to the middle of the card.  I cut the greenery from the set and added sprigs to both sides of the candy canes.  I cut the bow out of white gloss card and attached it across the middle of them.  I cut two holly leaves and added them to the top two corners with raspberry coloured berries.  I cut the Wishing You Peace, Love & Joy sentiment in raspberry card and glued it to a white shadow backing piece.  The card was completed with whit and raspberry mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4"  x 8"  in size.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we are in the path of a major hurricane that is set to hit land tonight sometime.  While we are prepared for it and are not too near the Gulf of Mexico, I do not anticipate any major issues for us here as we have a generator, however, the internet will probably be out for some period of time.  They are saying to expect no electricity or internet for at least a week (but could be as long as a month depending on the storm damage) so I have scheduled up as many posts as I can, but if it lasts longer, I may not be able to keep the blog up and running until we get the internet back.  I have put pics on Facebook that will post each day until Oct. 6th though)   Please just keep checking if that is the case, I will be back as soon as I am able.  I have not missed a day's post in over ten years, so fingers crossed it won't happen now!

All for now, Sue x

  6. Morning Sue, firstly hope you all stay safe and well and the hurricane doesn’t do too much damage. Very frightening I am sure.
Love the pink on this card, not the usual colour you associate with Christmas but it works beautifully. Love and hugs Jean xxx

  9. Hi Sue, Hurricane Helene certainly looks to be creating a lot of trouble, I hope that you all stay safe and escape major damage, thinking of everyone affected.
I love the style of today's card just not too sure about the pink but I think this one would probably appeal to a younger generation.

  12. Hi Sue

A gorgeous card. I love the soft pink too.

So sorry to hear about the major hurricane heading your way. I almost feel responsible… but I don’t have an e on my name! Seriously though I really hope there is not too much damage or loss to lives. Stay safe and I hope your generator keeps you going and you are not in the direct path of it.

    Love Helen xxx

  13. Be safe, Sue. I hope that there won't be a storm as bad as predicted. We are getting the rain here in upstate South Carolina and wind surges coming tomorrow. We've had a lot of large trees go down Tuesday night and power outages.
    Take care, Stephanie K
