Sending You Sunshine

Hello Bloggers!  Today's card used 14 pieces of ½” wide card strips.  I used shades of pale blue, teal, dark blue, lavender and purples.  This is a great card for using up leftover pieces of card.  I covered a piece of card with a sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing paper off and laid each of the strips down next to each other, making sure to put them right next to the edge of the previous strip.  Next, I used the full butterfly from the Bountiful Butterflies set.  needed to cut it out five times, diagonally from the bottom left corner to the upper right corner.  This will require several passes through the die cutting machine each time due to the double thickness of the card.  Using the same large butterfly from the Bountiful Butterflies die set,  I cut it five times out of white card.  Next, I covered a piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet, then peeled the backing paper off and attached the first piece of card with the different coloured strips on top of it and the butterfly apertures.  I filled in the remaining exposed sticky areas with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz.   I glued the five white butterflies into each opening by only gluing the centre of the butterfly body but lifting the wings upwards.  I cut the Sending You Sunshine die in black and glued it to the right corner of the card.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 ¼”  x  8 ¼” in size.
