Christmas Wishes
Hello there my crafty friends! I have a monochromatic card to share with you today. I started by cutting the Stained Glass Rectangles in white as the background. Next I cut the Stained Glass Candle outer frame in black. I added the middle die and cut it in white. I cut the Candle die in silver and black card. I shadowed it with the black die by slightly offsetting it. I cut a piece of white card covered with a sticky adhesive sheet. I peeled the backing paper off and coated it with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz and cut it to fit behind the candle die. I layered all the pieces up and attached them to the background. I cut the Christmas Wishes out of the Christmas Wordie black background sheets and added it above the focal die. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x
Hi Sue.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that when the page loaded I thought there was a fault. It looks black and grey, like the design and paper piecing is unfinished waiting for green Holly leaves and red berries.
I'm sorry Sue it's not for me today which is so unusual as I normally love all that you share with us.
Sending love to you and all that visit xx
Good morning Sue, I love all the stained glass dies but for the festive dies I do like to see a bit of colour.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, well it is certainly different doing it in black/grey/white and glitter. I would add a bit of colour to mine when I make it, the die set is gorgeous though.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hug, June Smith xxx
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteA lovely design, but I think I’d use red or maybe purple instead of black.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for not commenting on yesterday's card. While I appreciate all your hard work and showing us lovely techniques ... The Halloween cards are just not for me. So, Sue would you mind in the future that I don't comment on these cards. I don't want to be a pain and I don't want to hurt any ones feelings ... We all have our oppinions.
So to today's card. A lovely Christmas card showing one of your beautiful stained glass dies. I like this one be it monochrome or colour. Thankyou Sue.
Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone who needs them today. Please stay safe and well 🙏
Kind regards Ann Toppcards in Leeds.
Lovely card.
ReplyDeleteLove the dies and using black but not sure today. Think it’s a bit ‘harsh’ just wondering if a grey would look better with the silver….It may also be just the way it looks in the photo so this one may have to be a try and see…
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. It looks so striking in black, white and silver. xx
ReplyDeleteI love the Candle die!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. I do think monochromatic cards add a bit of class and I am sure that there are people who would be pleased to receive this card. However, for me I would prefer to see a card in more traditional colours - sorry.

Morning Sue - I seem to be in the minority here, but I absolutely love this card! It is so striking and impactful! I would be over the moon to receive a card like this - it’s just gorgeous! Colleen xx
ReplyDeleteChristmas doesn't have to be about greens, reds and gold; this is a good example. WakeyL
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, I do normally really like monochromatic cards but for Christmas this one seems a little bleak and I agree with others that I would prefer to see a little colour. The design itself is lovely.
ReplyDeleteFrances
I would love this if it wasn't Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is having or will have a good weekend,

Would love to see this card in the flesh so to speak as I’m not sure, although I do like monochrome. Perhaps I’m just too traditional!
ReplyDeleteThankyou Sue, good job we don’t all like the same thing, life would be boring!
I love this card and think the dies work equally as well like this or with some colour. X
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, so different, but I do like this modern look to a Christmas card. I think with the glitter bits in the background will definitely look a lot brighter in real life
