Christmas Wishes

Hello there my crafty friends!  I embossed a piece of white card using the Diamond Poinsettia embossing folder.  Next I cut the Outer frame from the Stained Glass Poinsettia die set in white.   I paper pieced the bow and berries with ruby red card and the greenery with Khaki green card.  I cut the middle die in red and backed it with a piece of white card then matted it on top of the outer frame.  I cut the Poinsettia die in white and glued a piece of clear acetate to the back of it.  I used Polished silk glitters applied to the back, starting with the darkest colours first then working towards the lightest colours.  I set it aside to dry overnight, then added it to the centre of the card.  I cut the Christmas Wishes sentiment from the Christmas Wordie Sheets and added it below the focal element.  The card was completed with white and red mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8 3/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Good morning Sue and all that pop in to see this gorgeous inspiration. There's not much to say about today's sample apart from its just relaxingly beautiful, in fact most of your new festive dies are made to help us unwind whilst putting the designs together, it's been mentioned by crafty vonnie how relaxing paper piecing is, and I agree especially when the fall out is big enough for those of us with weird shaped, arthritic, nobly fingers to pick up with very little frustration lol. Thanks for sharing this beautiful inspiration Sue, you really are the best mentor ever.
Keep well everyone and I'm sending friendly caring hugs to you all xxx

  2. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what an absolutely gorgeous stained glass poinsettia, the colour on the back of the acetate is superb, wonderful, and yes I have this die so will be making it as part of my family Christmas cars this year.

Steph hope you are on the mend and feeling much better.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  14. Hi Sue. Love this elaborate card today. I don't think I would be able to manage all that paper piecing. The leaves and berries are just too small for my arthritic hands and poor eyesight. You have got me in the mood to make a few Christmas cards today.
