Hello there my crafty friends! I embossed a piece of white card with the Falling Snow embossing folder. Next I cut the middle die from the Stained Glass Christmas Tree die set in both white and black. I shadowed the white die with the black die and added it to the middle of the card. I cut the Christmas tree in white and added a white backing to it. I cut the tree out of the rectangle frame and paper pieced all the colours into place. I used some green caught in crystal acetate from my stash for the tree, yellow, red, gold, and two shades of blue for the ornaments and gold for the star and a brown trunk. I added it with mounting foam to the centre of the frame. I cut two poinsettia flowers using the Classic Poinsettia die from Fire Red Polished silk glittered card and assembled them and seated them in the lower corner. I added green leaves as accents to it. I cut the Noble Merry Christmas out of Ruby Red and black card. I shadowed the sentiment and glued it to the top of the card. The card was completed with white mats and layer. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x
Hi Sue and all that visit.
ReplyDeleteI feel there's two in one this morning. One with a lovely new tree and the other your beautiful poinsettia it's a beautiful piece of inspiration but I think I'd have one or the other, I'm probably on my own with my thoughts, but as I mentioned yesterday, I'm a real less is more crafter. I feel awful sometimes speaking my mind. I'm sending love to you both and love to all that pop in hope everyone is doing OK xx
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a gorgeous card, and I love the close up of the Poinsettia, need to look for that card. Brilliant, and yes I have those dies, so you know what I am going to be doing later.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

ReplyDeleteA lovely card today, but I think I'm with
Steph on this, just one poinsettia would
have been enough.

Hi Sue. What a lovely card to keep the spirit of Christmas going. Love the Christmas tree which, on it's own, would make a really pretty smaller card.
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
Like the Christmas Card but would have used either of clean and simply for me but it is a striking card

Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card today that has 2 elements that I love which is paper piecing & my favourite Poinsettia flowers. Yvonne xx
A great post...Love the modern looking tree with the traditional poinsettia. Though have previously commented I think your stained glass frames are strong enough to stand on their own without additional embellishments...
ReplyDeleteFabulous Christmas card! Love so much how the stained glass tree pops on the snowfall embossing!
ReplyDeleteLovely card.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue and all that visit this morning
