Get Well

Good Sunday morning all!  I selected a piece of black card and used the Cecelia die and cut it into the card.  I backed it with a piece of bright yellow card.  I inked the Periwinkle Stampcut die in black water based ink and ran it through the die cutting machine.  I used Alcohol ink markers to colour the image.   I attached the Periwinkle die cut to the side of the card with mounting foam.  I cut the Decorative Flag die in white and then cut the Get Well sentiment out of both yellow and black card.  I shadowed the sentiment then glued it to the flag die.  I added white flatback pearls as accents.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4"  x  7 1/2"  in size.  All for now Sue x

  1. Morning everyone.
And to all missing their dad today on Fathers day in the UK you're not alone xx

Got engrossed in watching the woodpecker outside the cottage and mummy cow looked amazed too with her big brown eyes and curious pretty face. What a lovely sample this is, I feel awful admitting to not remembering the Cecilia die, it really looks beautiful cut in like that.
A lovely start to the day thank you. Have a lovely day everyone sending love to all xxx

  2. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, this is such a beautiful die set and perfectly compliment each other. The only thing I would say is when you first look at the sample you see lots of black, perhaps a wisteria or lighter grey colour would have been better, but that is just my choice, hope it is ok to put this on here.

Happy Fathers Day to all those Dad's out there, and like mine up in heaven x

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Dramatic and striking but somehow it works - though I am 50/50 on the black and I use a lot of black…

  10. Good Morning Sue and all that visit this morning.Happy Fathers day to my lovely son who is going to be a first time grandad next month. Also to my own Dad in heaven. Miss you Dad.
I love the concept of today's card ... but I think I would prefer a lighter background. The dies used are lovely but the colour ways ... And this is only my opinion ... are not really my cup of tea. Thankyou Sue.
Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone who needs them today. Please stay safe and well 🙏.

  11. Hi Sue. I do like the sense of drama that can be created by using black card and the fact that
it can make the colours used with it really pop, however, because there is such a large expanse of black on this card, to my mind, it creates a rather somber appearance - sorry

  13. I don’t mind the black as that yellow really pops out drawing the eye in. A very striking card, your eyes would be drawn to it in a group of cards. Thank you Sue.

  21. Hi Sue, a most dramatic card and although I am usually averse to so much black being on display I actually really like it :-) The Periwinkle stampcut is so pretty and looks lovely shown this way.
