Just Because

Hi bloggers!  Yes, it's another rainbow striped card!  I do really like these, they are quick and easy and fun!  I started with a piece of Silver Sparkle card and used Sunshine Yellow, Sailboat Blue, Raspberry and Citrus Alcohol inks applied in a diagonal manner.  I cut the Just Because Block sentiment out of the centre (for the words), then cut it again out of white card.  I added mounting foam to the back of the rainbow card and added a piece of black card behind it.  I added a thin white frame to the top of the aperture opening then added the Block Sentiment die to the centre of the aperture, then paper pieced the rainbow words back into the white block.  I attached all of them with mounting foam to the centre of the card.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x 8 1/4"   in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another beautiful rainbow background sample, I have made a couple of these, although my backgrounds are not as good as yours, they are easy to batch make too. Thank you for the inspiration xx

  2. Morning Sue and all that pop in today.
These rainbow backgrounds are just what is needed to cater for young teens, awkward young adults and male recipients, of course the yellow shades and the pastels would be a perfect backdrop for our Easter cards and our delicate female cards, I think it's a brilliant idea but I couldn't do it, I'm just not artistic enough, it maybe applying inks onto cardstock but it has to be neat like you've shown us here and on previous samples, but I just know that I'd make a pigs ear of it, making myself cross and frustrated lol ill leave it to the professional and I'll admire these beauties from the other side of the screen.
Really hope everyone is feeling well, bright and cheerful and if not I have a warm caring hug for you, cuddle in and get warm I'm bug free at the moment lol xxx

  11. Good Morning Sue. This is a lovely card today. But unfortunately I can't get on with the inks. I think I prefer these kind of cards where you cut the scraps into strips and then stick them on to the main card. Still a lovely card as all your work is. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone who needs them today. Please stay safe and well.

  13. Hi Sue
    Happy Saturday everyone x
Oh wow - a rainbow of gorgeousness which is perfect for this rather grey and dull day. I do love alcohol inks but I don’t think that my attempts to recreate something like this would be successful. I often try to copy your beautiful designs and although everyone else seems to think they’re lovely I always feel they fall short. But then we are always our own worst critic, are we not?
Take care one and all x
Sending you all positive thoughts x

  22. Hi Sue, this is a lovely happy card with gorgeous colours. As I have neither silver sparkle card nor alcohol inks I tried this design with my distress inks and although not as vibrant as yours I am pleased with the result so thank you.
