Good Sunday morning all! I started with another piece from my background stash which used Beyond Blue Pixie Sparkles. I cut the Stitched Starburst Background out of the pixied card, then I added an offset black die cut behind it as a shadow. I added a white backing behind it. Using the You Are So Special Block sentiment, I cut the outside backing in black and added it to the centre of the card vertically. I cut some extra pixied card into a rectangle and matted it with white and added it to the centre of the card. I cut the sentiment block in black to use the actual sentiment and I attached it vertically to the centre of the card. I added a small white flower using the Summer Pierced Blossoms die and two white leaves as accents. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteA great bold card thank you.
Take care Kitty.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh I do like this starburst, it was such a popular die set, and I have used mine quite a lot, it made wonderful Christmas cards, and as you know Sue I love paper piecing and if you add coloured/mirror pieces in the rays it is a whole new design. Beautiful sample.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

It’s amazing what difference a black shadow can make to a card. It really pops with the added black contrast as well. I don’t know that pixie colour so something else for the list! Thank you Sue.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteA very striking card. The stitched starburst die is so dramatic and such a useful die. Lovely colours of pixie too and love the cute flower.

Love the flowers and the blue but not too sure about the card as a whole. Sorry. X
ReplyDeleteLoving this post. So easy to change up the sentiment so it makes is very gender neutral and generic for any occasion...
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, Sue xx Hazel
ReplyDeleteLove how something as simple as a black shadow makes such a statement, really lovely example thank you Sue.
