Hello crafters! I went into my box of tiny scraps and pulled out some vintage gold, black and gold mirror card and cut them into 1/2" strips. I covered a piece of card with a sticky adhesive sheet then alternated the colours and laid them down next to each other to create the background. Next, I cut a multi-layered frame using the Clipped Corner Rectangles. I made a larger white base and added a thinner black frame on top. I added mounting foam to the back of the frame then added a piece of white card as a backing. I attached it to the centre of the background. Using the Floral Wishes die, I cut it in Antique Gold card to use as the base. I cut it several more times in other colours (black and mirror gold)to use the flowers from them to add to the base. I added Black Onyx Glitter to the black flowers. I cut the sentiment banner in black and then added the words to it in Antique gold card. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x 9 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteUsing up scrap pieces really appeals to me as I resolved to use lots of mine before buying any more card this month.
However, I do need some black.
I do like your card so thank you for the inspiration.

Hi Sue. To me, this card looks like a regal emblem (have you created your own coat of arms?). It probably has to do with the sash with the sentiment and all the gold on the background.
