Birthday Wishes

Hello crafters!  I found a pixied piece of card for my background.  I used Lava Red and Burnt range Pixie Powders on it.  Using one of the dies from the Decorative Borders set, I cut it out of the background on both sides.  I  backed the piece with black card then glued the borders back into the cur out area.  I cut one of the Joanie die in white then cut it in half.  I glued them to the top and bottom of the centre of the card.  I cut the Birthday Wishes Block sentiment in white and cut it a second time out of the leftover pixied card to get the sentiment only.  I paper pieced the sentiment back into the white die cut, then cut the outer decorative die in the set to create a background for the sentiment.  I added it with foam to the centre of the card.  Using the Summer Pierced Blossoms, I cut a white flower and added a pixied centre to it.  I seated it to the right corner of the sentiment and added a few white leaves as accents.  The card was competed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  9 1/2"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  12. Good Morning Sue. What a beautiful colour your pixies have created . I really need to have a pixie day as my stash is running low and just when you need a certain colour match and can't find one then the pixies come into their own. Love the card Sue. Thankyou. Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.

  16. Hi Sue
    Happy Monday everyone x
Look at those amazing colours. The lava red and burnt orange pixie powders are not the ones that I go to that often in my stash but this reminds me that when I do use them I always love the results.
Joanie, cut in half you say, ingenious. Perfectly framing one of your brilliant block sentiments. I love todays bright and cheery offering x
Take care one and all x
Sending you all positive thoughts x

  20. Have just been looking over all the posts I missed, there are some beauties there Sue, including today’s offering, thank you!
I think I am going to have a day doing loads of pixie backgrounds, then another day cutting out one of every die I own (mainly yours) & then spend a day playing. Thank you Sue for all your inspiration throughout the year.
Happy New Year Sue & everyone.

  21. What a beautiful card and I just realized I have all the dies but don't have burnt Pixie powder. I would love to make this card for a friend's birthday in March and the way things are going around here it will take me until then to get it done!
I always know that I will get excited about card making when I click on this blog!
Hope the New Year is off to a good start for everyone,

  23. Hi Sue, a lovely card and the pixied background is such a vibrant colour that it can take the black without looking washed out. I am growing to love the block sentiments and can see that they will have to be added to the never ending list.
