Because
Hello bloggers! I cut the Swirly Scrolls Background die out of raspberry and black card. I shadowed the raspberry die cut with the black one behind it. I cut the background into three pieces, then added them to a piece of white card, leaving a small gap between each of the sections. I cut three of the Pierced Layered Flowers out of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet added to it. I added the outline dies to each of the flowers then glittered them with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz. I cut the Because sentiment out of black card. I seated the sentiment on a white vellum flag strip, then added the flowers to the left of the sentiment. I added some foliage in white cut from the Magnolia Corner die. I used a Wordie to completed the sentiment. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x 9 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x
Wonderful card Sue xx Hazel
ReplyDeleteWell Sue it has to be said that you know how to please, we all have our moments of feeling that we're ready to have a change of style whether it be using a different size card blank to work on, different background techniques etc etc you give some of us the confidence to try, but we all know your style, your techniques and your love of the new. This is a typical Sue Wilson design that got my craft buds tingling, the feeling that I needed to learn more. The Sue Wilson design that taught me to love cardstock and metal dies, although the frustration that comes from having fingers that refuse to work when it's so cold lingers, the concentration needed to enjoy this craft has turned me around and when I can't lift a piece of my beautiful cardstock I still have the inspiration you share with us every day ready for when I can get back into my little room to escape the troubles that our dear friends here, and our family are also having to work through. So thank you for helping to change my world with your designs and love of craft.
ReplyDeleteLove to all that have the patience to read this today and gentle warm hugs to everyone xxx

Wow! As if the Swirly Scrolls background is not stunning enough. That tiny shadow of black behind the raspberry really lifts it to another level. Simple and stunning. It looks amazing. Always love a bit of vellum and I never use it enough. Once again Sue you’ve delivered on every level - thank you x

ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card to start the day. The Raspberry colour against the white is just perfect and there is a place for every-thing and every-thing in it's place.

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue. Lovely new colour for us today and Such a beautiful card to send to someone who means a lot no matter what the occasion.
ReplyDeleteThankyou STEPHANIE for putting your thoughts into print. I am sure you speak for all of us who come to visit each day ... Certainly for me anyway. I also have the dreaded fingers that don't work very well in the cold and damp. But it's your inspiration that keeps me going Sue. So ... another massive thank you for everything you do for this lovely group of ladies who I like to think of as my friends too.
Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.
Kind regards Ann Toppcards in Leeds.
Please stay safe and well 🙏 everyone
Hi Sue. I am so pleased to see a nice, bright, cheerful card today on this freezing morning. I do particularly like the raspberry coloured card and the die is so ornate you wouldn't really want to cover the cut up with too many other embellishments.
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
I loved the swirly scrolls on launch & is one of several of your dies on my wish list, so fingers crossed! This card shows it off beautifully. Thank you Sue.

Beautiful card Sue I love the combination of dies and the colours you've used
ReplyDeleteLovely words Steph sending you and your family caring hugs and best wishes
Sometimes you really have to see a particular cutting die used in different ways to really see its beauty. I love all your dies Sue, including the Swirly Scrolls background die, but I still had my doubts that I would ever use it. Today's card made me realize that it is worth buying because it brings a lot of elegance to a card. Thanks for sharing today's card.
ReplyDeleteSteph - Thank you for today's post. You summed up very nicely what many of us feel and think.
Hugs from Toronto to you all.
Stay safe and healthy.
