Christmas Greetings

Hello bloggers!  I started with a piece of Pixied card from my background stash pile for today's card.  I used Midnight Blue Pixie Powders heavily on this one.  I added a white frame using the Slimline Rectangle Frames.  Before adding it to the card, I cut an icicle border from the Snowflake Edger, glittered it and then added it under the top edge of the frame.  I used the Home Tweet Home set and the A Little Birdie Told Me set  for the focal element.  I cut a couple of branches out of tan card and coloured the leaves with a Forest Green Distress marker.  I cut a nest, added a few eggs and then added three red birds.  I cut a small round white moon and glued it to the upper part of the card and added the flying bird on it.  I cut the birdhouse and stand and added some Fluffy Stuff to the top to look like snow and attached it to the right side of the frame. I used the Christmas Greetings sentiment cut in red and added to a white shadow backing and attached it to the centre of the card.  I cut the Outer Scalloped die in white and seated the scene on it, before completing the card with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 5"  x  9 1/2"  in size.  All for now. Sue x

  16. Hi Sue, sorry I forgot to leave a comment yesterday on your great spooky card. I love the haunted house. I really like today's card and although I think that my robins would have a big surprise to find eggs in their nest at this time of the year I suppose birds in the southern hemisphere will be nesting just now :-)

  20. Hi Sue. There are bits of this card that I find very pleasing, like the icicles and the little birds, but overall I think it is a bit too dark for me - sorry.

  30. Slimline cards are a wonderful alternative in view of the "holiday price increases" from our PO General. I love the large cards but the postage gets expensive when you mail 30+ Christmas cards.
