Merry Christmas

Hi bloggers!  I used the Cut Corner Rectangles die set and cut the two largest dies and matted them.  I covered a piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I cut it into a modified slope, then peeled the backing paper off and coated it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I glued it to the matted background.  Next I cut the Christmas Village die set using jewel tones.  I added a yellow backing to each of the village buildings then glued them on to the card.  I used the small trees from the village set and added the horse drawn carriage from the Dashing Through The Snow sentiment.  I cut a small blue circle and glued it into the top of the card.  I added a Santa's Sleigh and reindeer.  I used the Noble Merry Christmas cut out of cobalt blue card.  I shadowed it in black then glued in the upper part of the card.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 5 1/2"  x  9 3/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  16. This is certainly a different layout for your village scene & the horse drawn sleigh really finishes it off nicely. Like man6 others I am a real fan of DL cards. Thank you for all the ideas Sue.

  17. Sorry Sue, whilst I like the design I feel it looks a little 'squashed in'. It may have been better on the larger rectangle die. WakeyL

Think this is a great post a bit on the modern side in concept instead of traditional, but somehow it works.....Do love the bigger sentiment though...

  19. Hi Sue. Love these cute little houses on this card, but my favourite bit is the way the cut corner rectangles have been layered up to give the impression of a plaque.

  28. Hi Sue, I really liked this card when Jamie showed it on his programmes and I actually took a snapshot of it for reference in case it didn't come up on the blog. Although I don't yet have the Cut Corner Rectangles I have made something similar with other frames and am quite pleased with the result. It's good to have your instructions though.
