A Joyful Christmas

Good Sunday morning all!  I started this simple  gold and white card by embossing a piece of white card with the Nordic Tiles embossing folder.  I used the Double Stitched Ovals and made a multi-layered frame using a wide white base and smaller layers of both antique gold and gold mirror card.  I cut the Swirls Background out of antique gold card.  I covered a piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet then peeled the backing paper off and attached it to the Swirls Background die cut.  I filled in the remaining exposed adhesive using Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz.  I added mounting foam to the frame then attached it to the Swirls Background piece.  I nipped away all the excess card around the edge of the frame and added the frame to the background.  I cut a strip of white vellum and glued the A Joyful Christmas sentiment to it.   I attached the vellum strip across the centre of the oval and used a flower from the Poinsettia Trio die set cut in gold.  The card was completed with white and gold mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2"  x  8 1/2"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Hi Sue.
It seems quite odd to be admiring a festive type sample during the heatwave this country can't cope with!! (Again)
Vintage gold, I just love it, it goes so well with other colours whether it be festive or everyday colour schemes, it's like strawberries, they need cream, ice cream at a push lol so this shade of gold looks very expensive and very classic and looks a million dollars as you have shown us with your beautiful inspiration.
If you have a few seconds to spare Sue would you pass my email to JUNE HORROCKS please, thanks so much in advance.
    Love to all xxx

  27. Hi Sue, a very different but totally classy card. Love that you have used two golds together, something that I forget to do but they do work well. In the close-ups it looks to me as though you have shadowed the antique gold Swirls Background with a gold mirror swirls background but you don't mention it in the details, am I seeing things?
