Hello crafters! It's time to have these cute little woodpeckers make an appearance! I started by creating a crackle background. I painted the Crackle Glaze on to a piece of black card and allowed it to dry overnight. Next I painted over the top with soft white matte chalk paint and a dollup of chocolate gold lustre paint for colour. The crackle happens immediately. I allowed it to dry for an hour r so then cut it into strips to look like wood planks. I attached the strips to a piece of black card to complete the background. I cut two woodpeckers out of white card and used distress markers to colour them. I also cut the wood trunk from the set and added grren leaves to it. I used the tree branch from the Moonlit owl die set and added two of them to the background. I used a Forest Moss distress marker to colour the leaves. I added one of the woodpecker coming out of the knot hole in the trunk and the other one flying. I cut the Home Tweet Home sentiment in black and glued it on a vellum flag. The card was completed with milk card mats and layers. The finished dimensions ar 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x
Morning Sue.

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue, beautiful card, love the Woodpeckers. I never realised that there were some living in the tree next to my garden until I found one on the path in my garden that a cat must have caught. It was awful to have to pick it up and bury it, such beautiful birds, love Jean xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. How nice to see all the wildlife coming to life on your cards. We do get a variety in our gardens as we back onto Beckenham Place Park and it is quite exciting to see them in real life. Love the crackle background which I am quite good at now after a very nice lady told me how to do it!
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
Hi Sue, this is a gorgeous card perfect for this special day. Your woodpeckers are so sweet and the colouring is great as usual.
ReplyDeleteLisbeth - lucky you backing onto Beckenham Place Park, my mum used to live round the corner and we often walked there and bird-watched.
