Hello there my crafty friends! I selected a piece of "caught in crystal" to use as my background. On a piece of acetate, I added Cosmic Lacquer then sprinkled it with Aqua Lagoon and Emerald green Pixie Powders. I scrunched up a piece of white tissue paper and laid it down over the acetate, then tamped it down with a piece of paper towel and set it aside to dry overnight. I trimmed it to the size I wanted then backed it with a piece of white card (it helps it to look brighter and helps to stay flatter too). I cut the Buttercup Floral Panel in black and added it to the white frame in the set. Using the Butterfly Delight set, I cut three varying sizes of butterflies in black and glued them onto the right side of the card. I used the Sending Lots Of Happiness sentiment cut in black and glued it in the lower right corner of the card. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and everyone another gorgeous technique done on acetate. I have followed your blog for all this time and still haven't done an acetate technique. I really need to try one as I love the acetate backgrounds both yourself and Jamie do.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why but I have to keep putting in my name before I comment as it puts anonymous lol.
Its still me though haha.
Hugs Donna xx
Beautiful background on a lovely card. I like the result you get when you use "caught in the crystal" technique, but I must confess that I have never tried it.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Toronto to you all.
Stay safe and healthy.
