Just Another Day In Paradise

Good Sunday morning all!  Today's offering is a really quick and easy make, but also very striking too!  I started with a piece of black card and covered it with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet.  It is sort of important that you use black card or at least a dark colour of card.  If you use white card for example, the glitter may not look solid enough, the white card will show through.  I used a selection of polished silk glitters and randomly splashed them on to the sticky adhesive sheet.  I burnished the glitter onto the adhesive sheet then dusted it with a tissue to remove any excess.  Next I cut the Beach Sailboat Stained Glass die in white and glued it to the left side of the card.  I cut the Just Another day In Paradise out of both white and black card, shadowed it and glued it to the right side.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4"  x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Oh WOW ..... Good morning Sue. You must have spent hours digesting the Florida skies during various times of the day, and knowing what a perfectionist you are I imagine you with your chalks or markers trying to match the colours of the sunset or sunrise with your stunning polished silk glitters or taking photographs of the sky just so as you get the colours as close as you can. This is post is showing beautiful inspiration via your stills, but in real life - I can only imagine the extent of the shine because I have a few polished silk glitters and I've not used any other brand since I started using these, they are as subtle or as vibrant as you want them to be, they are that fine you can barely feel them under your fingers when burnishing them into your design, the best glitters to use along with the best foundation cardstock and of course the best stained glass effect dies. This is another post I'll revisit throughout the day.
Have a nice day,and try and keep well dear friends xx

  14. Hi Sue
Your colours are very vibrant and looks fantastic, l wonder what glue you would use as not always easy to stick sentiment onto glitter, also l was lucky enough to win this sentiment which hopefully l will receive soon.

  20. Hi Sue, a lovely card and brilliant background. You say you splashed (appropriate word for a water scene lol) randomly but for me you have created a secret lagoon where the yacht has moored up for the night.

  39. Hi Sue and everyone this sample is stunning, loving the blend with the glitters and the tip is very important too. I remember doing this a few years ago and used the wrong coloured card; such a waste of all my glitters lol.
