To A Dear Friend

Hello there my crafty friends!  I have used the new Hexagon Background to create today's shaker card.  I cut the Hexagon Background out of white card.  I glued a piece of acetate to the back of it.  Next I created a multi- layered frame for it using a wider white base and a thinner frame using a piece of the decorative Dots 'n Stipes paper Pad.  I added the frame with mounting foam, then turned it upside down and added mounting foam to the back edge of it.  I used Iced Flake as my shaker element.  When I was happy with the amount of Iced Flake I added, I sealed it with another piece of acetate.  I added a piece of the yellow dotty paper behind the acetate so it showed through.  I cut three flowers from the Floral Bouquet die set and added them to the corner of the frame.  I used several different types of leaves as accents, including the Lace Edged Leaves and one from the Floral Bouquet die set.  I cut the To A Dear Friend out of black card and glued it to the top corner on the inside of the frame.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4"  x  7 1/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  26. Hi Sue. I am glad you are able to show some close-ups of this card because the first image doesn't really show just how stunning it is. I love the "floating" hexagon background die which casts a shadow over the background papers. Wow!

  30. Hi Sue, I love today's card and the Hexagon Background looks great backed with acetate. Love the mix of leaves as well. I really liked both of yesterday's cards but did not comment as I can't see myself using either of the sentiments, sweet though they are.
I hope you enjoy your break and have a lovely time with your daughter.
