Happy Anniversary To A Special Couple

Hello crafters!  I selected a piece of caught in crystal from my craft stash.  It was cretaed by sprinkling Flirty Sky and Pumpkin Patch Pixie Sparkles on a piece of acetate.  I added clear Cosmic lacquer to it, then used my finger to mix the lacquer and the powder.  I covered it with a piece of scrunched up white tissue paper and set it aside to dry overnight.  I cut the Scalloped End Rectangles in white.  I nipped apart one of the frames and glued the pieces to the top and bottom edge of the card.  I cut some smaller frames and used them in the centre.  I nipped the two smaller ones apart and added them around the larger pieces, extending them from the centre.  I cut the Happy Anniversary Duo in black and added both parts of the sentiment to the centre mat.  I cut several of the French Marigolds in white and spritzed them with water and scrunched them.  I assembled the flower once they were dry, then inked the tips with Victorian Velvet Distress ink.  I cut the Family Tree die in white then nipped apart the leaves to use as accents around the flower.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  10"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Hello Sue and all. I love the effect of caught in crystal it's beautiful, and although your photography is really good at picking up the intricate and delicate aspects of your projects nothing beats 'real life' and CIC it just has to be seen in the flesh and its so easy to achieve (it has to be or I wouldn't be able to do it) and the instructions are on the blog - If our new blog addicts click the arrow where it says HOME at the top by the pink banner, a box listing the techniques falls and you'll find Caught In Crystal, just click the circle and it will take you to the page where you can read how it's done, plus lots of other techniques Sue has taught us over the years.
Hope everyone is feeling well, and taking today as a rest/craft day. I remember as a child this is the day I spent writing thank you notes to everyone that sent me Christmas presents lol, boy how things have changed in every way possible, so I'll send my love to everyone here today and hope you are all doing OK and ill be back later cuz this beautiful inspiration deserves more than one visit from me today xxx

  14. Hi Sue. What a good idea to snip the smaller frames down and adding them to the sides to extend the design to fit the long slim card. Love the result.
