Have A Joyful Christmas

Good Sunday morning all!  I started by embossing a piece of white card with the Nordic Tiles embossing folder.  I cut a piece of ruby red card on the diagonal and attached it to the embossed card.  I cut a border using the Chantilly Lace Edger and ran it along the diagonal.   Using the Poinsettia Stampcut die, I inked and cut it a couple of times, then coloured them both using Distress Markers.  I used Festive Berries, Pine Bough, Fossilized Amber and Forest Moss.  I used a white pencil to add highlights to the flowers.  I attched the two flowers along the top of the diagonal, then cut several of the Holly Accents out of antique gold card and used them as accents around the flowers.  I cut some of the Pine & Holly Spray die set in white and used themat the top of the flowers.  I cut the Joyful Christmas sentiment in gold and glued it to the top of the card.  The card was completed with white, red, and antique gold card.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8 1/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Hi Sue. There are times I go for an embossing folder then think it's too busy and will distract from the rest of the design, the Nordic Tile is a continuous pattern but busy and soft at the same time, it's perfect for a masculine card but you've proved it's perfect full stop, to add the chantilly edger onto the tiled background would have made me panic, have I overdone it? I place my elements of the design and leave it a day or so just to make sure I like it before I stick it all down, I've another 12 cards added to the already long order, if only I had a fairy craft mother to help me find my enthusiasm and mojo I can't let these people down, this is one design I'll 'mix' with dies I have I just love it, I'm soooooo in need of CAS designs, anyone have a magic wand please?
Love and hugs to all xxx

    Good morning Sue and all.
Absolutely lovely card Sue. I think you must use a magic wand, because it seems like everything you do with cardstock comes to life.
I will put this one in my todo box.
    Have a great day.
