Surprise

Hello bloggers! I started this card by using Sam Poole's Botanical Stains and dripping them onto my craft mat.  I used Blackberry and Hibiscus.  I spritzed them with water and picked them up with a piece of white card.  I did this several times until my card was saturated with colour.  I dried the card with a heat tool, then embossed it with the Stripes Embossing folder.  Next I cut the Herringbone Background in white.  I cut it into strips and then crisscrossed two of the strips to make a border.  I did this twice, then added the borders on the diagonal to my background.  Next I cut the Surprise Big Bold word die in white and added it to the backing piece which I also cut in white.  I used some of the leftover card from my background and cut the Surprise die out of it.  I used the fall away pieces and paper pieced them back into the Surprise die.  I filled in each of the letters with dries clear glue and then sprinkled Frosted Sparkle Gliterbitz on them.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  8"  in size.  All for now. Sue x

  1. Hi Sue your background looks so different to your explanation I can't help but keep going back to look at it. It almost looks like a concertinad card or, stripes of card with the herringbone die on opposite corners, it's a lovely card and those colours with the subtle sparkle is worth more than one look.
Hope everyone is ok and have a nice day to look forward to, hugs to all that visit today xx
