Hello there my crafty friends! I selected a piece of Pixie Sparkled card from my background stash. This one used Beyond Blue Pixie Sparkles. I cut the Slimline Inner Scalloped Oval Aperture Trio out of the background. I glued a small piece of acetate over the back of the middle opening, then added mounting foam to the back of the die cut. I added a piece of aqua card as a backing. Using the Robin Family die set, I cut several birds, branches, a nest and pine cones. I added some fluffy stuff to some of the pine branches and heated to make it look like snow. I arranged the branches, birds and the nest in the upper and lower aperture openings. I cut the Season's Greeting in black and white and used the white as a shadow, then I glued it to the acetate in the centre aperture. I added a small snowy branch below the sentiment as an accent. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 5" x 9 1/2" in size. All for now. Sue x

Hi Sue and everyone here.
ReplyDeleteI love my Robin dies, I don't have the nest but with the festive or winter foliage you have given us with a change of sentiment they could be used for a winter birthday like mine. At one time in the UK you would only see these friendly little fellas during cold snowy winter days but they are all year round now but I'm not complaining they are so beautiful and reminds me of the story of the bird that flew to close to the sun and burnt his chest which we now recognise as the Robin red breast bless them.
Sending love and friendly caring hugs to absolutely everyone xxx

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, a lovely card with your adorable robins. I am always happy when I have seen a robin at my bird table. I love fluffy stuff but have not used it on such delicate dies as the pine branches, I will definitely be giving this card a go, fingers crossed it works for me.
