Wild About You

Hello there my crafty friends!  I made a quick watercolour wash to create the background.  I used the Golden Sunrise and the Red Sunset Pearlescent Watercolour inks and washed it across using a wide paintbrush.  Next I stamped the Lion stamp and coloured using Distress Markers (Vintage Photo, Scattered Straw, Antique Linen and Tea Dye).  I used the same watercolour inks to add in the background in the lion's stamp too.  I will admit that I handcut the image to make this card as I had the finished stamp before the die prototype arrived (not too bad of a job either! LOL)  I stamped the sentiment from the Wild About You stamp set.  I used black archival ink and stamped it in the lower corner of the card.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.   The finished dimensions are     7 3/4"  x 8 1/4" in size.  All for now. Sue x

  3. Well Sue you know how to bring the natural beauty to a majestic king like this, you never ever cease to amaze me with your colour and shading, it always looks like you've had a book of the subject and spent hours getting it just so. And yes Sue even down to cutting him out, everything about this inspiration is totally majestic.

  40. This card would be perfect for a masculine card including the young and the older! I like the watercolor washed background and you’ve captured the feeling of the African plains. The lion is so regal and his pose has a feeling of majesty with his head slightly lifted so you see the look of a lion gazing out across the plains. Beautifully done!
