So Sweet Of You

Hi bloggers!  I started today's card by embossing a piece of white card with the Rose Bed embossing folder.  Next I used a piece that was leftover from another card I made previously and that was the decorative border on the left side of the card (you can't waste a perfectly good border, now can you??).  I cut the Whitney Background out of a piece of pixied card from my stash.  I used the Whitney Edger set and cut it into three pieces.  I used the two side borders on the other card and was left with the centre piece.   I backed it with a white strip in the centre of the border then added a black card covering the rest of the back.   I attached it to the left side of the card here.  I cut the So Sweet Of You sentiment out of a leftover piece of the Pixied card and added a black shadow, then glued it to the upper right side of the card.  For the floral element, I cut the Whirligig Flowers out of a piece of white card that was covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I glittered all the pieces then assembled three flowers.  I attached them in a cluster in the bottom right corner.  Lace Edged Leaves were used as accents around them.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  8 1/2"  in size.  All for now, Sue

  2. What a pretty card and it's so obvious it's a special Sue Wilson design and when I first viewed the full picture and before reading the recipe my first thought was that you'd used your very first flower die you design way back when, it really is a beautiful design. Sue, I have clear protective cello bags full of leftover frames, fall out from frames, like every crafter nothing gets thrown away because every last tiny corner of cardstock can be used for the smallest flower die or leaf, boxes and bags stashed in every drawer and container full of fall out, and I even cut round left over strips of card that I've cut a row of flowers from just in case, and if it's far too tiny to use and I end up filling it in the paper bin I have to cover it over or guilt gets the better of me lol talk about taking it to the extreme!
Anyway I'm done now you'll be glad to read, so thank you for your Wednesday inspiration and please stay safe love to all xxx

  3. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, firstly I would like to congratulate all the winners announced yesterday on the latest release blog winners.

This sample today is amazing, the combination of colours and balanced out with the white is stunning, and I will definitely be adding this to my long list of samples to make.

  12. A very bold coloured card today, one that will certainly stand out in a crowd. It’s always good to use up ‘waste’ pieces & like others nothing gets thrown away, just in case! But with pieces like this we are always looking for ways to use them. Thank you Sue.

  13. Good Morning Sue. Lovely sample today Sue. And there goes my favourite embossing folder again. Love it Sue. I agree wholly with Steph and Crew Trish. I too have bags and baskets with cut outs and cut offs, like everyone else. And like Trish said they are handy for the new slimline collection. I was a lucky winner of that launch and So far that bag of of bits has come in handy for at least four cards. So there you go. And I believe in what my Mum told me many years ago
" Waste not Want not ". Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.

PLEASE STAY EXTRA SAFE EVERYONE 🙏 🙏 🙏

    Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.
