Sending You Love & Hugs

Hi bloggers!  I have another Pixie Sparkle card to share with you today!  I decided to try out the Coral Crush Pixie Sparkle this time.  I sprinkled it all over a piece of white card, then spritzed it with water to activate the powder.  I used a flat, wet  paintbrush and moved the colour all over the card, then let it dry thoroughly.  I used the Double Stitched Rectangles and cut a large frame.  I added mounting foam to the frame to raise it and added it to another piece of card.  I used the centre from the frame and recessed it down inside the frame.  I cut the Sending Love & Hugs sentiment  out of white and black card.   I shadowed the sentiment with the black die cut, then glued it to the centre of the frame.  Using the StarFlower Cluster, I cut two white and two black ones.  I used the black ones as shadows behind the white die cut.  Using the extra flower die, I cut two of them from the leftover Pixie Sparkled card and glued them to the underside of the flowers in the die cuts.  I added black centres and pearls to both of them, then attached them in opposite corners.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  8"  in size.  All for now. Sue x

  3. Hi Sue this is beautiful it's a favourite design I like to use. I get asked for some wakey cards some really personal stuff I have to trawl the web for - to me they are not 'our kind of Sue cards' more the customers story type cards such as the recipient's fav tipple or sport etc so to be able to make a card similar with just a beautiful expression as this and very little else kind of relaxes my mind again. That's why I love your Noble Happy Birthday it's so easy to make a stand out card, a classy looking expensive looking card with very little else something you would find in a boutique card shop. A 7×7 or smaller 2 thin coordinating mats/layers and a sentiment/expression and done and the thanks goes to you Sue for giving us the beautiful tools and confidence to do something plain using just words. So I'll send this heartfelt sentiment to you and all that come to the blog today. Take care everyone and lots of love to all xxx

Must try spreading the colour with a paint brush, and see if I can get such a lovely background. This card is really lovely and very uplifting right now. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  11. Good morning everyone hope you are all well.
Love today's card and love the colour too, I made a background with the coral crush sparkles too but also added a little of the regular pixie in sunshine yellow, I had a different layout though, that little bit of yellow seemed to make it pop.

Have a lovely crafty day everyone.

  20. Hi Sue
    Happy Tuesday everyone x
Oh wow! The design is relatively simple but it is stunning x
What a colour, it’s fabulous. I am now convinced that I need to get my hands on the Pixie Sparkles. The background you have created using a paintbrush is another one I am going to have to try as well as the cling film technique. I wonder if you could get the same effect using a brush with pixie powders?
I love your cluster design finishing touches. I have them all and they are brilliant for making relatively quick cards with stunning results.
I am still impatiently waiting for your slimline dies. I am all ready to create some DL works of art. I was convinced they were going to arrive yesterday and had my supplies poised ready to spring into action. Although I did make a birthday card for my mum - the first card I have made this year - in fact the first card I have made for months. I had planned a DL card but reverted to your Maggie die and your Delicate Daisies to create my usual square! Have to say it was the first time I have made a card in so long but I think it has given me the big shove I need to get me into my crafty space. I am planning to make another card today. 2 cards in 2 days - in my world that’s mighty impressive x

  26. Hi Sue
A beautiful clean and simple card, I love the colour of the coral crush pixie sparkles. I ordered the beyond blue pixie sparkles just to see what it was like and if it was any different from pixie powders and was very impressed so I shall order some more including the coral crush. Oh and I tried your paintbrush tip and really pleased at the result so thank you Sue

    Love and hugs to everyone

  28. Hi Sue and everyone, I wasn't sure about todats card at first. I love the colour, ive actually just done an orange ink blended one, but I just thought it was just a bit simple and plain. I can't do plain or simple cards,im scared of the white space lol. However the more I look at it the more it grows on me.Ive painted with pixie powders before, but don't have any sparkles yet. Maybe I should try one out.
Anyway, hugs to all Donna xx
