King Of The Grill

Hello crafters!  Here's another slimline card using an older die set!  I started with the crackled background and I used a piece of black card and painted it with our Crackle Glaze and allowed it to dry thoroughly.  Once dry, I painted over it with the Corinth Blue Matt Chalk Paint and it crackles right away giving you that old worn wood look.  Next I cut the Grill and the accessories from the King Of The Grill die set.  I cut the grill in Petrol Blue and added the flames which I cut from white card and inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide and Barn Door Distress Oxide inks.  I cut the tools out of white card and used a silver paint pen to create the chrome look and either a black or brown marker for the handles.  The shish kabob food was coloured with various markers too.  I glued them onto an oval die and added it above the grill with mounting foam.  I cut the sentiment out of Petrol Blue card and glued it to another oval at the top of the card.  The card was completed with white and petrol blue mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 4 3/4"  x  9" in size.  All for now. Sue x

    Hello again Sue.
What a great card. I wish I had the right dies but unfortunately I don't
You have done a fantastic job with the colouring of the tools, they look like you could just pick them up and use them

  17. Good Morning Sue. You are certainly on to a winner with these slimline dies ... I know ... Because I won a set. And I love them . I have made one or two with them up to press ... To send out to my friends. They make excellent frames and mats. And this mornings card is only one example of what can be done using earlier and new dies. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.

PLEASE STAY EXTRA SAFE EVERYONE 🙏 🙏 🙏

  27. Hi Sue and everyone who pops in today. Great card today Sue, especially good for men, who we all find so hard to make for. I too love the background and have crackle medium but never used it lol. It looks great for weathered wood. I noticed it on the slim die launch and also the one with the robins in.
I've never seen these dies before but they are great.
A nice crafty day for me today I think. Take care all, whatever your plans for today hugs Donna
