Go Wild

Hello crafters!  Back to the Slimline collection but we are going vertical for today's card.  I started with the Slimline Decorative Squared Stripes die set and cut it out of white card.  I added an Arctic Blue card backing to it.  I used the coordinating Decorative Squared Rectangles and cut a frame using the two largest in the set.  I added mounting foam to raise it and attached it to the striped background.  Using the Cheeky Monkey die set, I cut three monkeys out of tan card and added some accents with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink to their bellies, cheeks and ears and Vintage Photo ink around their bodies.   I cut a couple of bananas and glued them to the hands of two of them.  I decoded to hang the monkeys upside down by hooking their tails through the stripes of the background die.  I cut a bunch of the different vines and inked them with Forest Moss Distress Oxide ink and attached them to the top and sides of the background.  I cut the Go Wild sentiment from the set out of custard and powder pink card and glued one at the top and one at the bottom of the card. It's a ;little cheeky fun but I think this would be such a fun card for a child or even a teenager!   The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 5"  x  9 1/2" in size.    All for now, Sue x

Awww I love this. This would be fabulous for young children ... And I love how you have hooked the tails round the strips on the backing die to make them appear as though they are swinging in the trees ... attention to every detail. Well thought out Sue. Thankyou. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today

PLEASE STAY EXTRA SAFE EVERYONE 🙏 🙏 🙏

  20. Hi Sue
    Happy Tuesday everyone x
Oh I love this cheeky little number. Those monkeys are soooooo cute. Any little girl or boy would be delighted with a card like this. That said my boys are 23 and 28 and they’re still cheeky monkeys! Lol x
Can’t tell you how much I am loving these slimline cards. They really are my cup of tea. My boys treated me to the new dies at the weekend - thankfully they got in before they all sold out. Early Mother’s Day present they said and thankfully they aren’t going to make me wait until Mother’s Day to play with them. So my cheeky monkeys are not so bad are they?
Operation ‘Blitz the craft room’ begun in earnest yesterday. My patterned paper collection has been well and truly sorted through and reduced to a shadow of its former self. I really had to give myself a good talking to. I had an obscene amount. Many of the pack and pads had not even been opened and some of them must have been in my stash for 10 years or more. I left the rather large pile of paper in the porch for my friend to collect on her way to work this morning. She has messaged me and said there were so many oo’s and ah’s from the members of staff and apparently one of the teaching assistants was so overwhelmed she cried (happy tears). I am so pleased - feeling quite liberated!
Today’s sort out mission is pastes, glues, polishes and all things that should be wet! No doubt by the end of the day this stash will have been reduced greatly as I know that many of them will have dried out. Will let you know tomorrow x

  30. Hi Sue, I love these cheeky monkeys and your card shows them off brilliantly. I think this card would suit many younger people but I know at least one recycled teenager who would love it. Plenty of snow on the hills but luckily at ground level it has just been rain or sleet.

PP - I think your cheeky monkeys are wonderful and good luck with the continuing blitz just don't wear yourself out.

  40. Didn’t know how to reach you. The With Sympathy die has a cut bar at the bottom of the “h” and the Beginning of the “y”. Thereby, cutting the letters apart. I’m gluing the two letters together; but, thought you should know of the design error.
