You're Never More Than A Thought Away

Hello there my crafty friends!  Anyone have any New Years resolutions?  Today's card is a pretty All In One design in shades of yellow!  I started by cutting the You're Never More Than A Thought Away out of custard card on the top with a piece of straw card underneath.  The top custard card cut all the way though while the straw card didn't.  I used the impression on the straw card and cut around the flowers and colour the leaves green then glued them to the back of the custard card.  I added a white backing card behind the whole die cut.  Next, I cut the die again out of both straw and black card.  I nipped away the sentiment in both of them.  I used some spray glue on the straw coloured sentiment then glittered it with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz.  I added the black version as a shadow behind, then glued it on top of the original die cut.  I made a -triple layered frame using a wider custard card on the bottom, a medium black frame and a thin straw coloured frame on top.  I added it over the die cut with foam.  The card was completed with white, straw and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8" in size.  All for now. Sue x

  1. Morning Sue and all that pop in today.
Everything about today's inspiration is so beautiful and the paper piecing is lovely. The sentiment is so true and close to my heart as it really means so much as the start of the new year brings worse news than the end of 2020. It's hard to keep the 'happy mask' on all the time but you sure make it easier.
Sending love to everyone. STAY SAFE IN 21 xxx 💖

  8. To sort out my stamps and dies into themes/subjects much better than they already are so i do not lose things or forget about them ? and use a variant of craft items from the past also and be able to see and access better choices.
Storage is always costly and varies as to what works best.

  11. Good Morning Sue.A lovely card to brighten our day and our moods along with an appropriate sentiment. I too am not a yellow person like Theresa ... but something draws me to this one ... and those glitter bits really set it off.
No resolutions for me this year Sue ... all I would like is for this evil virus to disappear and all of us can get on with our lives as we knew it. How can we make those little promises to ourselves when everything changes everyday ... and not always for the better. So I will just plod along looking forward to a new card project everyday . Thank you Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today.Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.
    PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE 🙏 🙏 🙏

  16. Hi Sue

Pretty card and I like the sparkly sentiment. Don’t Usually make New Year resolutions but I think I should start using my crafty stash to create instead of just buying more and organising it!

  31. Hi Sue, a very nice card, I love the custard card and the sentiment is most appropriate to send to those that we miss seeing. I gave up making New Year resolutions many years ago deciding instead to just resolve to do something when the idea came to me. Seems to work quite well.

  32. Hi Sue. What a very grand card in gold (straw) and black and such a great sentiment for these times. I haven't made any resolutions this year as even though I tried really hard to make Christmas and the new year as wonderful as ever, it just seemed to be a bit of an anti-climax this year.
