You Brighten My Day

Good Sunday morning all!  I started this card by embossing a piece of white card with the Leafy Forest embossing folder.  I added colour to the folder using Distress Oxide inks with a smoothie.  I used a very light dusting of Gathered Twigs for the trees and Crushed Olive for the leaves and Tumbled Glass for the sky.  Next I used Blue Wisteria Opal Polish onto a piece of white card and allowed it to dry.  I cut a white oval using the Double Stitched Oval die set and added it with foam to the opal polish piece (white I cut out with an oval die too).  I used a branch from the Cherry Blossom Frame and glued it to the bottom of the oval.  I added Spun Sugar ink to the flower buds.  I cut the flying bird and the nest and eggs from the Robin Family die set and glued them in the oval.  I cut the You Brighten My Day in white and glued it to the top part of the oval.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8 1/2"  in size.      All for now, Sue x

  1. Oh Sue you know that special feeling you get when something really pretty and beautiful loads and you just can't help smiling, well this gives me that feeling of happiness hope and to try and just for a little while put aside what has been a tragic awful year and concentrate on the warmth of the UK summer with its blue sky, blossom and new life. Very few of us really know each other in real life but as a strong group of 50+ woman here plus you Sue we've supported each other's feelings and been here every day throughout this weird and frightening year, you've given us some stunning samples Sue but this is the one that gives hope, its absolutely beautiful and one I'll come back to every so often during today. I know I always ramble on in my comments but I'm known for going on and on lol I can't appreciate anything with just a few words as you've all gathered, I'm sorry lol, please everyone take care and STAY SAFE AND KEEP CARING xxx ❤

    Good Morning Sue and all.
I overslept this morning for sure. My alarm that screams loudly, flashes a blue light and has a bed shaker that is under my pillow , was set for 6a.m. as usual and didn't actually wake me till almost EIGHT.
Your card for today Sue is absolutely fabulous with it's promise of spring and I will go back to it between each job that I've set for myself today. Thank you Sue and all who comment on your posts.

STEPHANIE you can ramble on as much as you want for me. I love your rambles they are like a blog soap opera ( in the nicest way) and we are your audience. But the one thing that is true is for most of us who visit is ... this blog has saved us from going in sane ... Each one of us have things that have gone on in our lives and the lockdowns for some have been horrendous....but this wonderful group have given hope and pleasure to each other and we thank you Sue and everyone for this ... Stephanie ... This rambling on is catching 😂😂😂
    PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE 🙏 🙏 🙏

  30. This card would brighten anyone’s day and, as others have said, our days do need brightening. Every time I try colouring over an embossing folder I am far too heavy handed. Just can’t get that right!! X
