Especially For You

Hello crafters!    I started with a black piece of card and used the Green Pearl Opal Polish all over it (it looks white in the jar, but the colour comes out when you use it on dark card!)  Once dry, I embossed it with the 3D Flourish Border Frame embossing folder.  I cut a small rectangle of white card and embossed it with the Quilted Pillow folder and matted it with black.  I added it to the centre of the green background with foam.  I cut the Mallory die in both white and black and shadowed it, then added it to the centre with foam.  I cut the Especially For You sentiment out of a leftover bit of card from the Opal Polished card.  I added a black shadow then glued it to the centre of the card.  I cut three small flowers from the Cherry Blossom Frame out of the opal polish card and glued them to the corner under the sentiment.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  8 1/4"  in size.  All for now. Sue x

  3. Hi Sue and all that visit today. I agree that the green opal looks incredible absolutely gorgeous. I love how an embossed piece card makes for a quick easy beautiful card like this, whoever thought it would be a good idea to start making embossing folders need a tap on the back, but these new designs you show us are lush as are the opals but after my craft shop owner/friend left my order on the doorstep yesterday and after peeping at the bill for cardstock and a few dies, opals will have to wait a while unfortunately. Sending much love and virtual hugs to everyone STAY SAFE KEEP CARING AND VIGILANT xxx ❤

  13. Morning Sue,
They're amazing (the opal polishes), when used with dark card. Green was my mother's favourite colour and I just know that she would have loved a card like this. The embossing folder really sparkles.
Such a pretty card. Thank you.

  23. Hi Sue. I think that the background looks really special. I wonder if it is because of the embossing folder that you have used or whether it is because you have used the opal polish on black card, or both. Good idea to used a simple panel in the centre to really show off the background.
