For You

Hello crafters!   I started by creating the background using Pixie Powders.  I used a whole sheet of white card and covered it with Aqua Lagoon and Teal Wash Pixie Powders.  I spritzed them with water then covered it with cling film and scrunched it to create interesting mica lines when it dried.  Once dry, I embossed a piece of it with the Quilted Pillow embossing folder.  I used Black Soot Distress ink on a smoothie to accents the very edge of the embossed card,  Next I cut the outermost die in the Avery die set in black.  I used white card and cut the decorative die in the Avery set, then layered it on to the black die cut.  I cut the centre die from the set in white and added a white backing to it, then layered it on top.  I used the leftover card from the Pixie Powdered background and cut the flower die from the Magnolia Corner  to make two flowers and also cut the For You sentiment.  I seated the flowers on the side and embellished them with Lace Edged Leaves in white.  I glued the sentiment to the centre of the die.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x
7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Hi Sue. How I remember the humidity well but at least there was aircon on tap, this is far to much for me and 4paws can't remember the last time we had a full night sleep and it's now showing, I feel you have a new favourite folder lol just the word 'pillow' sends me into raptures lol. At least I can focus lol and today's inspiration is just gorgeous.

  4. Hello Sue and all
Really love this one from the gorgeous pixie colours and the quilted pillow embossing folder which I am waiting (not so patiently) for at the moment. Lovely to see Avery having an outing and those pretty flowers. Doesn’t the touch of black soot make the embossing stand out and help to pull the whole design together. Yes, really like this one Sue

  29. Lovely card. The black around the border of your card really brings one's attention directly to the main focal point of your design. Great idea. It is very effective. I used to do this on some of my cards, but got out of the habit of doing this. Of course your pixie powder layer is amazing with your cling film technique and your lovely embossing using the Quilted Embossing Folder. I like that you added leaves to your flowers on this card. You bless me each day with your gorgeous cards and techniques. Thank you for sharing. Hugs
