A Sweet Miracle

Hi bloggers!  I have a baby card which is a bit less on the pastel/sweet side to share, but still really cute!  I started with the 3D Leafy Forest Embossing Folder and used it with a piece of coconut white card.  Once embossed, I lightly used a small smoothie with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide on it up the tree trunks to highlight them.  Next I cut a multi-layered oval frame out of white card and using the Double Stitched Oval die set.  I added foam to it then attached it over a piece of sly blue card.  I cut a small cloud from the Twinkle Twinkle Clouds and Stars die set, inked it lightly with blue ink and glued it in the upper part of the oval.  I used the Wise Old Owl set and cut the branch.  I inked the branch in Vintage Photo and used Forest Moss ink for the leaves.  I glued it across the oval.  I cut the bird from the Zoo Animal die set in tan card and inked through the die with Vintage Photo.  I seated him on the branch with foam.  Using The New Born Sentiment die set, I cut the Large Baby out of tan card and glued it in the top of the card.  I cut the sweet miracle sentiment from the Noah's Ark die set in tan card and glued it to the bottom corner of the card.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4"  x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  28. Hi Sue

A lovely cute card. Nice to see something different to the pastel ones, but I love those too. Everyone is different and so we have to adjust our styles and preferences to match our recipients. I remember someone I worked with asking for beige baby clothes if I wanted to buy something as his wife only wanted those. I did buy some, but would rather have bought lovely cute nice coloured ones, but it’s what she preferred. This card would have been perfect for them. I wonder if the baby ( now grown up) has rebelled and now has pink hair?

Back to the card, sorry Sue, I love the use of the little and and the embossing folder.

    Love Helen xxx

  29. Hi Sue and all lovely virtual blog friends. I say rebel big style and go for the rainbow effect in the hair lol

So I'm now a mummy of a 40yr old daughter so her hubby booked last night away for them at a spa hotel the first time I've seen them all since our few days at the lakes before we were told to "STAY HOME" After much thought and deliberation I decided that I could and would stay over to be with our only granddaughter, I've just returned home and I feel so sad that I couldn't hug our only daughter on her special day yesterday or kiss her goodbye before I left, (hope this doesn't hurt you to read Marie I know I'm so lucky in other ways) so my heart goes to you too.

To the card. It IS an unusual colour choice, but people do tend to pick more neutral colours these days and if that's the case, wouldn't this be perfect to have mounted in a glass box frame with the name of the new baby weight etc, like Helen above, give me pink and girly with bows and pretty lace or pale blue and grey with navy for a baby boy, and as a last minute this would be absolutely lovely if you're a new mum adopting a baby for its forever home. Either way I've gone on far to much - again so I'll say "love it" I'll also say "STAY SAFE YOUR LIVES ARE PRECIOUS " ๐Ÿ’• xxx

  37. Adorable, just adorable! Baby in the tree top. I almost started to sing "Rock A Bye Baby". LOL. Glad to see you mix and match so many different dies. Most of your followers, especially me, have loads of your dies that need to be used other than just the latest releases. It does take a little longer to mix and match dies to make a card look just right or to create a scene. But it is very rewarding when the design comes together so nicely and cohesively. I have a tendency to pat myself on the back when I make that happen. Well done Sue. Thank you for sharing. I always like it when you think out of the box.

  38. I like this card not only because it is a cute one but most of it because it is different. Everything is different than an usual baby card: the design, the colors ... and you used dies from so many die sets and everything works so well. I agree with Suzzette Y. mix and match dies is not an easy task, but you did it perfectly.Thank you for the inspiration, Sue.

Hugs from Toronto to you all.
    Stay safe and healthy.
