Rose Lady

Hi bloggers!  I just love the Perfect Portrait Collection and wanted to share this one with you today.  I started with a piece of white card and used Aqua Lagoon, Teal Wash and Mango Blaze Pixie Powders.  I allowed it to dry well then cut the Rose Lady die in black and mounted it over the pixied piece.  A quick note here, you really need to emboss this die to get the detail of the roses to show up well.  Personally, I find it easier to use a ball stylus and hand emboss the roses a bit deeper, but you can use the die cutting machine with the embossing plates if you prefer.  I used the Background Rectangles to make a multi-layered frame in white and added it with mounting foam.  Since I made a large piece for the pixie powders, I used part of it to make the matching flowers.  Using the extra floral die in the Magnolia Corner set, I cut a bunch of flowers and assembled them and glued them around the corners on opposite sides.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are  6 3/4"  x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. I'm blown away. I can't even make up words that would compliment today's stunning inspiration, one thing I do know is that it would make a perfect gift if put inside a glass fronted box frame. Amazing.

    Good Morning Sue,
Took me an age to find you again today,I almost gave up.
It's a beautiful card and I love your use of Pixie Powders
Like Crewe Trish I only make cards for Family and Friends and wouldn't get use from the die. In my mind's eye I can see it mounted on a glass brick, wouldn't that make a good gift?
    I'm now tempting myself. lol
    Stay safe,keep crafting.
    Hugs.

  20. Hello Sue and all
I love these dies and am currently waiting for my lovely girl with the braid to arrive, not very patiently I am afraid, due to coronavirus and the huge number of people online shopping but at last our post has opened up some new sorting facilities so let us hope things will start to move soon. I hope to make my granddaughters birthday card when this lovely lady arrives and just hope it makes it in time, would be very disappointing to have to rethink now.
The rose lady is perfect in these pixie colours and with the flowers to match, such feminine cards for a big age group
    Hugs

  34. These dies are growing on me. I don't know why but they didn't appeal to me. I guess I couldn't see using them. This card is pretty however and gives an opportunity to use a gorgeous Pixied background.
Everyone stay safe and have a happy weekend,

Your design is beautiful. And this Rose Lady from the Perfect Portraits Collection is gorgeous. Having worked with this die, I agree with you that this die needs to be embossed to bring out the details. Your combination of Pixie Powders is lovely and works well with the black. I hope there will be more of the Perfect Portraits to come. Hugs
