Hope

Hi bloggers!  I started today's card with pixie powders.  I used the Aubergine Dream, Plum Twist and Rich Gold Pixie powders to create this background.  I really like the combination of colours.  I spritzed them with water, then covered it with a piece of cling film.  I scrunched the film to create wrinkles and allowed it to dry overnight.  Next I cut the Magnolia Corner out of white card.  I used the extra flower die in the set and cut it several times out of bright gold card to give me enough flowers to create a  bunch of flowers.  Some of them I made into a more 3D style and others were just doubled and formed.  I glued the corner into the lower corner of the card and added a swath of flowers across it.  I cut the Hope Circle out of some leftover pixied card and added it to a white backing then mounted it in the upper corner.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4"  x   7 3/4"  in size.  All for now. Sue x

  1. Sue this actually bought a lump to my throat, the inspiration maybe beautiful but the sentiment means everything with what's happening in the world. You give us Hope, and as one of our blog family mentioned, every sentiment on every sample has had a meaning.

Good morning Sue,A Fabulous card indeed.
The sentiment may have been put there just for me as one of my Granddaughters and Her Daughter were quarantined for 14 days late yesterday. Sue has so many underlying problems that her immune system is shattered. Her Daughter Candice (age 23) is her carer
Hope is all we can do.
The card you have for us today is beautiful and I'm sure the sentiment applies to all of us.
The colours were made for each other and the Pixie powders are a dream.
    Thank you Sue.

  14. Good Morning Sue. Fabulous card Sue. I bought this die....
Knowing that my beautiful... much younger.... Sister was having treatment for breast cancer.... I saved it... I wouldn't use it until we heard the word we were all praying for...CLEAR . So I got this die out and put it to work. The card was lovely.... but the sentiment said it all. It's a beautiful word die that means so much to so many people. And more so at this very worrying time.Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them this morning.Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.
    PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE.🙏🙏🙏

  28. Hi Sue

A really nice card. I like the background but the sentiment die is what makes it so special. I love how it stands out so boldly against the background and I love the swirly font of the hope. I’m sure when you designed this one Sue you knew it would touch so many people with their various personal endeavours, but you could never have imagined it would become the sentiment of so many around the globe at the same time.

The magnolia corner just finishes it off beautifully.

    Love Helen xxx

A stunningly rich looking card design. Great pixie color combination. Yet another cling film technique. I have not tried cling film over pixies. I will have to try that. I assume you taped your card down before tapping your pixies on it and sprinting with water. Your HOPE cirlce sentiment is one of my favorite of the group. Thank you for sharing your designs and techniques. Hugs
