Hi crafters! I started out this one with one of the new colours of Opal Polish called Blue Wisteria. I coated a piece of card with it and once dry, I embossed it with the Rose Bed folder. You can see the different shades of lavenders and blues that you get with the Opal Polish in all the pictures. Next I cut the Joanie's Border in white and black, using it as a shadow behind. I glued it to the left side of the card. I cut the Friend Circle out of an extra piece of card that I also coated with Blue Wisteria polish. I added a black shadow and seated it on the larger shadow outline cut in white. I added it to the right side of the card. I cut the Cosmos Flower outlines from the polished card, the also cut a black outline to use as a shadow. I added these to the Cosmos Flower solid dies cut in white. I used the Magnolia Corner cut into pieces to accent the flowers. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now Sue x

Hi Sue. What a really pretty card today. Left to my usually own devices I would usually emboss the card first and then go over this with the opal polishes to hit the high spots only. What a good idea to use the opal polish first to cover the whole piece of card.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, firstly my apologies for the somewhat erratic nature of my comments lately, we have had builders around for what seems like forever and my days are just not my own. Both cards over the week-end were lovely but today's is gorgeous and I really, really, want the Blue Wisteria Opal Polish.

ReplyDeleteI am one of the crafters and I am part of this community and loving my time here. I love the us of just two colors in this card. Dyeing is such a fine craft. The embellishment with roses and patterns are great. I have jotted down pointers and I am going to try this one. Will be back in case of doubts.
ReplyDeleteI am an admirer of your crafts. You are doing a great job. Keep it up Sue. The colors and polishes you are using looks rich and classy. Thank you for sharing a lovely artwork.
