You Make Me Smile

Hi crafters!  I started this one with a look into my background stash and pulled out a Pixie powdered background.  I used Midnight Blue, Lava Red and Emerald Green Pixie Powders to create this background.  Next, I cut the Plumage Background twice out of white card.  I nipped around the edge so just the feathery sort of look was exposed and attached it to the background with foam.  On the other one, I nipped further into the design, this time I left more of a smaller circle design and layered it up in the middle with foam.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a circle die.  I inked around the edge with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and added it to the middle with foam.  I stamped several Cosmos Flower stamps in black and cut them out with the matching dies.  I used Salty Ocean on the ends of the petals to add some colour before assembling them.  I added the flowers in opposite corners with white leaves as accents.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Hi Sue
It looks like a completely different die - absolutely ingenious. I always try and have a little guess as to what you have used before I read your blog. This threw me slightly! Such a fabulous way of ‘reinventing’ the Plumage Background. Of course it goes without saying that the Pixied background is stunning. Gorgeous card x

  38. Stunning design. I like the contrast between the white and the darker Pixie Powders background. The combination of the colors of Pixie Powders that you used work very nicely together. You have shown the Plumage Background can be nipped here and there and also to stack the layers to create an entirely new look. You are so good at that technique - always thinking outside of the box. The pearls add that very special accent. Thank you for sharing.
