Wish You Were Here

Hi there my crafty friends!  Here's one that is sort of along the clean and simple lines.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card using the Rose Bed embossing folder.  Next I cut the Tiled Background in white.   I also cut the outer die from the set using a piece of white card covered with sticky adhesive sheet.  I attached the die cut onto the backing with the sticky adhesive sheet.   I used a piece of background from my stash that I had covered in different colours of Opal Polish (Lavender Blue, Blue Parakeet and Pink Thistle) and cut the Tiled background out it too.  I used the fall away pieces from it and paper pieced it back into the exposed areas of adhesive in the background.  Next I cut the tulip from the Elegant Flower Trio in white and added it to a white backing.  I attached it with foam to the side of the Tiled Background.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with a small Double Stitched Rectangles die and added it to the side.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x
7 1/2" in size.  All for now. Sue x

  3. Hi Sue. I love that you can put any colour behind the Tiled background to suit any gender and I know the mini expression is the title to your post today, but you have given us so many to choose from the background would suite the majority of them. Talking about the sentiment - I wish I was if it's warmer than here plus I'd gain so much-needed knowledge I'd actually be able to call myself a true card maker ☺
Whatever your plans have a really lovely day xxx

    Good Morning Sue.
I love today's card in every aspect and from previous comments today it seems that I'm not alone in having Opal Polishes sitting on the shelf unused. I must say that I particularly like the lovely soft colours you have used today.
    Thank you Sue.

  34. Your lovely design has that pure look to it. One's eye is directed to the focal flower element accented with the Opal Polished Tiled background. The colors you chose for the Opal Polishes blend beautifully together. Nicely done. Thank you for sharing. Hugs

  45. Hi Sue,
I've been remiss, looked at your lovely postings but forgot to comment. I certainly did so with this post, I love this card, and instead of a rose could be adapted to a male-oriented one.
But I love this rose, the design is so striking.

    Hugs
