Hi Crafters! It's time for a fun birthday card! I started this one by selecting a background from my stash pile. One of the new techniques that I have enjoyed lately involves using cling film over the top of other products, in this case, some
Lustre Polish. I then reuse the cling film and add it on to another piece of white card (wrinkles and all!) So you can see the remnants of the Lustre Polish and the cling film on the top part of the background. I cut a
Dotty Streamer border in Cobalt Blue and added it across the card. On the lower part of the card, I used a score board to add thin lines for a bit of detail. I cut the
Hip Hip Hooray sentiment in Cobalt blue and glued it to the lower part of the card. I cut the
Dotty Balloons out of
Sky Blue, Wisteria, Ocean, Cobalt Blue and Heather card and added a white backing to all of them. I cut the strings using the three different styles in the set and glued them to each of the balloons and added them with foam randomly to the top of the card. The card was completed with white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size. All for now. Sue x
Morning Sue.

ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better Steph. I'm in the middle of a chest infection and relying on Sue for a reason to get out of bed.
I'm not a balloon person as I find them pretty scary but I do appreciate excellence where I find it and I always find it on this blog.
Thank you Sue.

Hi Sue, this is indeed a fun card. What a great idea to use the leftover cling film as the base for your balloons and it gives a sharp contrast to the clean lines of the scored lower third. An excellent card for all ages.
