You Are Simply The Best Ever

Hi bloggers!  Happy New Year's Eve to you all!  Most of you know that I usually post my Orphan Cards on this date every year, but I have decided not to this year.  I am no longer able to post them out to a loving home, which is the reason why I used to do it.  I would rather you enjoy a simple card that I found very pretty!  I started with white Yupo Paper and used Sailboat Blue Cool Peri and Purple Twilight Alcohol inks on it.  I added a bit of blending solution to get the colours to mix and circle outward.  I used the shadow die of the rose from the Elegant Flower Trio die set to cut an aperture.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it to a piece of white card that I cut the Rose die into.  I added the piece that I cut out of the background behind the cut out rose.  I used the Simply Best Ever sentiment in white in the corner and stacked several for dimension.  I added a wider white mat that I glittered the edge with Iced Snow, then finished the card with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Hi Sue from our hideaway on the farm. I've never tried yupo paper, it looks to give a beautiful background to ink etc. It's such a shame we can't see your orphan cards, can't you upload them then give to a local charity to auction to get a few dollars for their cause ?
However you're spending your New Year's Eve have a lovely day xxx

  10. Hi Sue
Wow what a charming beauty to finish 2019 with. Gorgeous x
I absolutely love the look you achieve when you use yupo paper. I have got some yupo paper but as yet it remains unopened because I am a little apprehensive about mucking it up. (I’m a bit of a skinflint and it is not the cheapest ‘paper’ in the world)! I really need to try and be brave and give it a go don’t I?
I can’t believe we are at the end of another year. Once again Sue you have spread the love so wonderfully on this amazing blog. Your talent knows no bounds and your enthusiasm is contagious. I look forward every day to checking in to see what delight you have decided to share and I am never disappointed. Thank you x
2019 was not a good crafty year for me. My card count was pretty low. My intentions are always good but sometimes life just gets in the way. I am really hoping to up my game in 2020. Time will tell if my crafty aspirations come to fruition.
On that note I would like to wish everyone a very Happy and Joyful New Year. I hope life is kind to you all x
Have a lovely evening whatever you are doing and whoever you are doing it with x

  43. Hi Sue a beautiful card that looks deceptively simple. Gorgeous background that is actually the foreground, and I love the way you have recessed the rose die. The glitter border only adds to its beauty. I too would have still liked to see your orphan cards for the added inspiration they would give and although in the past we have all been happy to offer them a home it is not for any giveaways that we follow your brilliant blog.

  45. Hello Sue,

What an eye-catching creation for the last day of the year and of the decade. Where did the time go? It just seemed to fly by faster than ever this year. Your card has to be described as simplistic elegance. The alcohol ink on Yupo paper is stunning with such vibrant colors that just make the delicate rose stand out in all its glory.

As so many of the group have already said one of the best parts of the day have been in seeing all of your marvelous creations. Your blog and your videos are so inspirational and your talent is unending.

I would like to wish you and your family and all of those who follow this blog a very HAPPY, HEALTHY AND JOYOUS NEW YEAR. I'm looking forward to see what marvelous things you have in store for us in 2020.

  48. Well, I actually wish it was New Year 2021 and this year was just a bad memory. Sorry to be morbid.
This is a very pretty card that I would love to take a try at in a smaller version or on gloss paper as my Yupo paper is too small for this. I do have the dies and inks so a start at least.
I hope everyone is well & looking forward to a fun weekend,
    Stephanie K
