Ring Quilt

Hi bloggers!  I have a card without a sentiment to share today.  I don't do that very often, but I just really liked the design as it was.  I started by cutting the Ring Quilt out of white card.  I added it to another piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheets added to it.  I cut the Ring Quilt again out of Powder Pink, Old Rose and Antique Silver card, keeping all the fall away pieces.  I paper pieced them back into the original design.  After they were all in place, I cut the die again three more times out of white card.  I nipped away the edge on all of them, then offset them over the original to create a sort of star pattern in the centre of the card.  I added it to a couple of Double Stitched Square mats to give it a nice edge, then completed the card with white, pink and silver mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Brrr it's really cold here in Lancashire and very sparkly just like I've spilled my glitter bits on the lawn.
This collection of quilt dies always look absolutely amazing. So many gorgeous cards are still being shown with pride and rightly so, everyone that shows their work has their own design and look truly gorgeous. There must be 100's of combinations and colours to show the versatility of these quilt designs and as like I'm the sewing world each is just stunning xxx

  15. Good Morning Sue. You are right you know, some cards don't need a sentiment and as you have said this is one that doesn't. But it doesn't take anything away from it either. You could frame these and then hang them somewhere just to be admired. Thankyou. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them this morning. Kind Regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

  27. Beautiful card design with a lovely color combination for the paper piecings. Very clever of you to cut multiple centers out of the design and stagger them to form a star in the center. In my opinion, there are no quilters that would not love to receive this card. Quilters certainly would appreciate the work that goes into making this fantastic design. Well done.

  31. Hi Sue. What a really unusual design for a card. It looks as though it would be really complicated (probably why your description had to be quite involved), but I am sure once you have all the cut pieces in front of you all will become clear. Love the way the design hangs over the "tile" section onto the border.
