Just Because

Good Sunday morning all!  I used Lavender Blue Opal Polish on a piece of white card.  After it dried, I used the Abigail die to cut an aperture in it.  I glued it to a piece of white card as a backing.  Next I cut the Abigail die in white and reinserted it into the aperture opening.  I cut a second Abigail die in white and used the blue backing cut out of the aperture as the backing for it.   I added it with foam and set it in a diamond orientation.  I cut the Just Because sentiment out of an extra bit of the opal polish background.  I added a black shadow using the words themselves, then added it to a full white shadow and glued it to the inside of the Abigail die.  Using the Striped Nasturtium die, I made two flowers using the outlines.  it was accented with white Fern Fronds.  I added a thin frame using the Double Stitched Squares.  The card was completed with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Stunning card this morning , the background looks amazing and you would think you have used more than one polish. The collections of dies really shows of the details cut in white against the lavender blue.

  12. Morning Sue
I really need to invest in some of those lustre polishes instead of putting them on the back burner in favour of adding more dies to my stash. Wish I was wealthy instead of beautiful. lol
Such a pretty card Sue. Thank you. Hugs xxx Pauline

  17. Hi Sue. Love the way that you have inserted the die cut in different colours into the aperture created in the background card and then placed the original one on top. What a good idea.

  26. I love the Opal Polishes. The Lavender Blue and the Golden Flamingo are my favorites of the ones I own. They go on so smoothly and make beautiful card that die cuts well too. Love the stuff.
This card sample shows how beautiful the opal looks as a background.

  36. |Hi Sue,
I am rather late (as in days' late),the polish you've used seems to be lighter at the top graduating to more of a green. It's lovely - I have got some of the pastes, just have to try them out.......
